Life & Work with Myles Thompson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Myles Thompson.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Ya know, I don’t want to be a cliché, but I never know what to write here because part of me feels my greatest achievement is just surviving in LA for the better part of a decade.

While here though, I’ve podcasted, worked on too many sets to remember, dipped a toe in the art scene (the real one), gotten into 3d art and animation, and found a new passion for photography. Honestly, I’ve only been able to do as much as I have because of the people I’ve met along the way.

Oh, and, I haven’t done anything literally anyone can do.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I don’t know if I can say anything that hasn’t been said before:

It’s expensive here.

Most people want to be Brad Pitt.

You can spend so much time in traffic that your steering wheel becomes your best friend.

But also, it can be a lonely city if you don’t find your tribe… Or mistake the people you work with as your tribe.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
If you look at my Instagram, I’ve got a lot of car, food and some cosplay photography. You’ll also see some of my 3d pieces, most of which are Sci-Fi in nature. I’m most proud of my podcast. I’ve been able to talk to friends, family, the successful and the famous. I’m not sure if anyone could ask for more with that.

What sets me apart is the fact that I’m interested in other people’s perspectives, whereas most other humans walking around here only think about themselves and how events in life effect them.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
Saturday mornings, cereal in a bowl and watching Mighty Morphin Power Rangers with my older brother.
