Today we’d like to introduce you to KJ Manuel.

Hi KJ, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
If I’m being honest, I only sought out to be an actor. I never expected to go down this road until I met my best friend, Josue. Josue, may God rest his soul, saw something in me that I never saw in myself, and that was the world of journalism. He felt like people needed to hear my voice. He helped set me up, and we started promoting KjKonfidential: A Daytime Talkshow. After he passed, it was hard for me to want to keep it up, and along came Trey Crooks. Together we formed KjKonfidential w/ Trey and instantly, it was a hit. Once I got my degree, I started focusing on a lot of behind-the-camera work, such as directing a short film called “Table of Truth” and diving deeper into my photography work.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been smooth at all. One point in time, I lost everything. I loved out of my car for almost a whole year and felt like I wasn’t gonna make it. I didn’t even understand why I was putting myself through the mess. But when you want something bad and you know it’s your passion….you’ll put that car till things get better for you. Some days I didn’t even know if I was gonna eat, but God made a way for me to never go hungry.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m an artist. My most recent work is my podcast, “The Kj Manny Podcast” where we tackle mental health. I’m known for my work with my brand KjKonfidential the Brand LLC. We focus on mental health, photography, directing, modeling, and writing. I’m most proud of all my accomplishments. It takes a lot of long days and nights to put in the necessary work that needs to be put in. My drive sets me apart from others. I always want to be a staple to others to really just be better versions of themselves.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Humbleness. I truly believe that even in the smallest gigs, I was truly humbled. You know a lot of people forget how to be people in this line of work, and I thank God every day that I stayed true to me and just being humble for any opportunity that will come my way.
