Today we’d like to introduce you to Kenyatta Griggs

Hi KENYATTA, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am from Los Angeles, but grew up in Long Beach, California, Jackson Tennessee, Kings Mountain North Carolina, San Bernardino as well as Cleveland Ohio. I recieved my cosmetology license after graduating from high school. After a few years working on crenshaw Blvd in LA an opportunity arose to purchase the shop I worked in, and in that moment I took the opportunity to bet on myself. From styling many people within the shop my skills began to increase where I started attracting clients in entertainment. After reading Think And Grow Rich I became a student of self help, with a intrest in what makes one successful, so I started a census of questions through my own clientele.. so I came with an idea to write my first book called THINK AND BALLOUT

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I moved around alot as a child, never going to a school over two years. Out of high school at 19 I had a son with a girl from my high school. No job, living with my aunt I worked at ups at night while I went to cosmetology school in the day. I had to build my clientele from the ground up. It was hard and very competitive on crenshaw with so many barbers and multiple shops in that area.
The day I came with the concept to write a book called THINK AND BALLOUT thru a company I called HIP HOP MOTIVATION I was shot 6 times on my way to cut Method Man’s hair from Wu Tang Clan. Laying on the ground riddled in bullets, unable to breath fully I was harrased by the cops.
