Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelli Thompson.
Hi Kelli, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’m from Compton, CA. Ex-Professional Basketball player, now Mental Health Therapist & Basketball Coach.
I am a proud middle child. Lol
Graduate of UNLV 13’ where I played D1 Basketball.
Played overseas in Iceland, Prague Czech Republic and Turkey.
Wrapping up basketball, I stepped into coaching & skill development working with youth up to the professional level.
I started my brand Morals and Values 2019 with the idea of getting people back to the basics.
Respect of self and others. Values of self and others. Value of People. Real communication and bonds. Taking pride in being yourself.
Simply just standing on the principles we were raised on. Treat others how you want to be treated.
Technology and social media has giving the world a fake sense of security with popularity and “ material “ wealth.
I started Morals and Values with the plan to push the Slogan “ People over Paper. Get back to human interaction and communication. Get back to real bonds with people, with real intentions to see each other happy and successful.
Your character will speak louder then your pockets. Be a good person.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has been a long road but I wouldn’t trade any of it. Starting the brand. Cutting and sewing my first hoodies. I’m not the biggest fashionista but I do know the substance behind my brand. It has brought out a whole new hustler in me & most importantly, my message is being received by the world in such a POSITIVE manner. That’s what I am most grateful for.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I work in the mental health field. I coach kids. I have a passion for the youth and making sure they have a chance at a future. Where I come from, it’s rare.
Outside of being a professional athlete, I do my best to make sure I do my part for my clients as well as my players.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I have a village. Beautiful amazing family that has had my back and cheered me on in every aspect of my world. I have been allowed to genuinely be myself. I am beyond blessed to have them behind me.
