Life & Work with Jose Sanchez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jose Sanchez.

Jose Sanchez

Hi Jose, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
During the pandemic in 2o20, I was introduced to the LA nightlife and Afterparty scene by some friends. I began by coming around and helping out local events and slowly began to make really good connections. Music had always been a life source to me since I was a child, so I was no stranger to the magic that came with it. Winter 2020, A good friend of mine gave me an opportunity to play for one of his parties, and it impressed me and got a lot of people’s attention. Spring 2021, I got booked to play a party which is now known as “Blind Tiger LA,” and became one of their residents for some time. Since then, I’ve played at countless after-hours, warehouse parties, and house parties, and even gone as far as Dallas, TX, and Las Vegas, NV to perform.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Anyone who says it’s a smooth road is lying. However, it is those very same struggles that make the journey just as worth it. In today’s day and age, I think what has made it difficult for me is the people in my industry that aren’t invested into the art as much as people like ourselves. Too much selflessness, too much ego, too much greed.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
In the music community, everyone knows me as “Sancho.” I specialize in Storytelling, Education, and Sound Design. I’ve been DeeJaying for the past 4 years and have been producing and engineering audio for 2 years now. I’m very well known for my vibrant personality, wittiness, and outstandingly curated selection of art (music, literature, paintings).

I am most proud of being here where I am now. Knowing that although it was not easy, and it took a lot of sacrifice that I have sat and shaken the hands of the pioneers of the future of musical art. I myself, am also one of those pioneers.

Alright, so before we go, can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you, or support you?
Following my Instagram, Soundcloud, YouTube. Sharing my posts and videos. Buying tickets to my shows.

There’s room for everyone to eat.
