Life & Work with Jerome Lee Jr of San Jose

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jerome Lee Jr

Jerome, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My influence started when I was younger as my dad was a rapper and was traveling on the road. I would sit with him and listen to him write rhymes and was fascinated with the art of making music. I was always big into music as I would wonder how certain sounds came together to formulate a whole song. Back when I was in college I was riding the bus listening to Tory Lanez Chixtape 4 and was fascinated with the production quality and thought to myself that wow I can do this too. That’s when I saved up for my computer and bought Logic Pro X and have been producing for almost 10 years now

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It was and is definitely not a smooth road. Lack of communication is a big part of it all. It tends to take a toll on you when you send beats out to rappers for them to either not use them and/or they use them and they don’t tell you that the song is finished so you’re just left wondering. Then again that also depends on your relationship with that artist.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a music Producer. I specialize in many genres as I am always looking to expand and allow my creative juices to flow into every aspect of my music. I would say I’m more know for making heartfelt melodies that would make someone cry because of how angelic they sound. Trust me I know because it happens to me all the time. I am most proud of my resilience and willingness to see this through for the rest of my life as I have made a lot good lifelong friends and relationships because of music. What sets me apart from others is that I’m always down to work whenever even at the most crazy hours of the day, even being in the studio all day creating nonstop

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I have learned is to always be easy to work with and not to be a jerk for lack of a better word. The more relationships you have and maintain the farther you will get in life. Burning bridges under the wrong circumstances can be detrimental in the long run. Also be diverse!
