Hi Jay, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
It all began by accident — what started as a small side job turned into a lifelong craft. More than twenty years have passed since then, and somewhere along that road, tinting became a part of who I am.

For over two decades, I’ve carried a squeegee and a cutter knife in my hands — tools that now feel almost like an extension of my body. They’re my sword and shield — symbols of precision, protection, and persistence. Through them, I’ve learned how to guard what matters most.

People often think window tinting is something optional — like an accessory.
But it’s actually as essential as wearing sunglasses or applying sunscreen every day.
Just as we protect our skin and eyes from the California sun, window films protect what’s inside — our health, our comfort, and the things we love.

For me, tinting and PPF (Paint Protection Film — yes, that invisible superhero layer your car didn’t know it needed!) are far beyond the surface.
They’re layers of protection — shields I create for others. Under the blazing California sun, I’ve seen how film can do more than block heat; it can protect the skin of a child, the health of someone recovering from skin cancer, or the car a person worked years to afford.

And while protecting others, I also wanted to protect something deeply personal — time with my family.
That balance between work and love is what inspired Carmeleon Skin Window Tint.
It’s more than a shop — it’s a reflection of craftsmanship, creativity, and care.
Every project we take on carries that same belief: that protection can be both functional and deeply human — art, built with heart.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been easy — starting a business never is. But for me, the biggest challenge wasn’t mastering the technical side — it was creating a space that truly reflected the level of care and professionalism I wanted our customers to feel.

When I used to work elsewhere, I often felt sorry for customers waiting for hours — sitting in small, uncomfortable chairs, trying to pass the time while their cars were being worked on. Especially on hot summer days, that scene always stayed with me. It felt like something worth fighting for — fighting against boredom, discomfort, and the sense of being forgotten.

So I dreamed of something different: a space where waiting could feel like resting.
Finding that space and shaping it into reality became one of our greatest challenges. My wife and I spent endless hours designing, painting, arranging small details — everything from color palettes to the smell of fresh coffee & Tea.

Now our waiting area feels more like a cozy café — there’s air conditioning, Netflix, drinks, snacks, even a gaming console — all the little touches that say, “you matter.”
It wasn’t just about building a shop; it was about building an experience — one that combines professionalism with genuine warmth.

Because in the end, we’re not just protecting cars — we’re protecting comfort, patience, and the feeling of being cared for.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
At Carmeleon Skin Window Tint, we specialize in automotive, residential, and commercial window tinting, as well as Paint Protection Film (PPF) and Color PPF installations. We proudly carry and install LLumar Window Film, known worldwide for its clarity, durability, and superior heat rejection.

But beyond the products, what truly defines us is our approach.
