Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamilla Cagnolatti.

Hi Jamilla, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’m a designer from LA/ Chicago, the name of my brand is VillaMoor. I’ve been a designer for five years now and I’m doing everything I can to push my designs off the ground. I create all my designs in-house and by myself, I do all the drafting, cutting, and sewing.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There has been a lot of challenges along the way. When your upcoming with no teams as well is a lot more harder, you have to market yourself and create all the designs by yourself! When you believe in yourself all you have to do is keep pushing and never give up.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a designer and I specialize in women’s clothes I’m most known for my fringe pants. I’m most proud of the improvements my brand has created along the way. I’m moving slowly in the right direction. What sets me apart is the uniqueness of my brand.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up was great; I had the best of both worlds. I lived in Chicago/ LA and I would travel to LA for the summer to visit my dad and we would travel every summer and go to a ton of amusement parks. Chicago was my reality playing outside with the neighborhood kids and actually just being a kid making nothing into something. I feel like I’ve always had the best childhood.
