Today we’d like to introduce you to Hermann Binek.
Hi Hermann, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I graduated from Technical College in Germany and earned my Masters in Business Administration in USA from Central State University (CSU). I volunteered for the Mountain Infantry Battalion of the German Armed Forces; then I served my community at my hometown hospital, where I trained as a paramedic. I completed protection training with the police in Germany, personal protection division.
I have extensive experience in security technologies, operational programs, surveillance, disaster management, and law enforcement.
I have worked in more than 90 countries around the world.
My father, who grew up as an orphan after the war, was the only one to be accepted into the mountain rescue service in Bavaria at the age of 17. His extraordinary skills and knowledge, as well as his knowledge of dog handling for the search and rescue service, were irreplaceable. In the course of his career as head of the local mountain rescue service and as head of the avalanche rescue dog team in Europe, he patented countless rescue apparatus and special equipment, which is still used today without alternative. My father donated all the patents to charity. He was honored several times by the German government for his outstanding charitable activities. My father professionalized rescue operations with new designs and frameworks that are still in use today. My mother was also involved in many humanitarian and charitable activities. I come from these respectable parents and grew up in the spirit exemplified by my parents.
My colleagues and I have helped people all over the world through our international safety and rescue work. We were often restricted and hindered because we were not an internationally recognized organization, even though we were on the ground helping the injured, the large organizations would deliver not applicable equipment months later.
We saw that our local Paramedic colleagues wanted to help but did not have the know-how and equipment to do so. With tips and training, these helpers can be better deployed and help more people. We help people to help themselves (and their society) better.
After years of helping as a private group, we took the step to form a non-profit organization. As first responders or first Aid emergency workers, we thought Alpha Aid was a fitting name.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Problems are solved in order to reach our goal. There will always be problems, but in our profession, we are there to quickly find a solution that is as long-lasting and successful as possible. One of our difficulties is that we are not yet as well-known as other organizations and, therefore, receive little help from outside.
Thanks to our extraordinary achievements, we are becoming more and more well-known, and this also ensures that we receive more help, including financial support.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Trusted internationally security leader that has successfully prevented three government-level assassination attempts, spearheaded the creation and implementation of security standards for the show The Amazing Race and has been an invaluable asset of multiple global celebrities. Possesses extensive training in security technologies, programs, surveillance, disaster & rescue management, emergency medical care, and law enforcement.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you, or support you?
People who are interested in helping us should go to our website to read about what we really do and how we differ from other non-profits.
