Life & Work with Geovanni Gill of Studio City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Geovanni Gill.

Hi Geovanni, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
’ve had a deep love for the arts ever since I was seven years old. Dance, in particular, has always been where I feel most like myself — a space for expression, connection, and growth. Through my training in modern, jazz, and hip-hop at Culture Shock Bay Area, Chapkis Dance, and Diablo Valley College, I discovered that dance was more than just movement; it was storytelling. That realization ignited my passion not only for performing but also for filmmaking and bringing stories to life in new ways.

It’s with the support of my dance community and my family that I’ve been able to pursue this path and make the move to Los Angeles, where I continue to grow as both an artist and a storyteller.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road at all — my journey has been shaped by both pain and resilience. I’ve had to work through a lot of trauma, including overcoming mental and physical abuse. For me, art became a lifeline — a form of escape that allowed me to process my experiences and, over time, taught me how to love myself again.

Growing up without a father or proper guidance often left me feeling lost, but it was through the arts and the communities I found within them that I began to discover who I truly am and where I belong.

More recently, losing my mom has been one of the most devastating moments of my life. Picking up the pieces and finding my way forward has been a huge priority — I’m still healing, but art and storytelling continue to give me strength and purpose.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a multidisciplinary artist with a deep love for storytelling through dance, performance, and comedy. Over the years, I’ve built a career that blends movement, character work, and creative expression in unique ways. One of my proudest moments was performing as a dancer for Disney at the El Capitan Theatre — an experience that reminded me how powerful live performance can be.

I’ve also had the incredible opportunity to train at The Groundlings, where I’ve advanced to Level 4 and discovered my passion for comedy and character-driven storytelling. Recently, I booked with JFI Productions, an immersive theater company, and performed at Comic-Con — both of which pushed me to explore new forms of performance and audience connection.

Another highlight of my career was performing at the Hollywood Bowl with Kanye West, as well as producing and showcasing multiple original choreography projects in Hollywood. Most recently, I booked a project under NDA that not only challenged me creatively but also earned me my SAG union status — a milestone I’m truly proud of.

What sets me apart is my ability to merge different disciplines — dance, acting, and comedy — into performances that feel dynamic, heartfelt, and authentic. My journey has always been about staying true to my voice while embracing opportunities that allow me to grow and create meaningful experiences for audiences.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
’m always looking to collaborate with other passionate artists, whether it’s combining our creativity for social media projects, live performances, or something entirely new. I love the idea of skill-sharing — learning from each other’s strengths and building something that resonates with people. I’m truly open to collaborating across any medium, and I’m always excited to connect with like-minded creators who want to tell meaningful stories or make something impactful together.
