Today we’d like to introduce you to Deandra Gunthrop.
Deandra, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I have been in fashion for the past 18 years. I started my own clothing company in 2016. I was fortunate enough to be asked to be the leading lady in a music video by artist Aalon called Night Owl. Later that year, I went to a concert support, which is where I met my first artist, I styled by the name of Elvia Cadena. Since then, I have been referred to many other artist to style them for music videos, performances, and so on
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
This career choice has definitely not been a smooth road. There are many obstacles about being a stylist. Having to push my way through doors to be noticed and taken seriously, but by the grace of God. I have had people who believe in me and support me.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a celebrity clothing stylist. I dress some of the biggest names in the soldies community. I specialize in stylist artist for performances and music video. I normally style women, but I am now mastering the craft of styling men.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory is watching my favorite TV shows and imitating the characters, also obsessing over certain outfits I wore as a kid
