Today we’d like to introduce you to Clint Schwabedissen.
Hi Clint, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Absolutely, I appreciate this opportunity. People have a lot of different names for me like; Clint, Schwaby, Schwabs, and more. I grew up in Vancouver, Washington. I completed my four year degree at BYU-Idaho, and moved out to Southern California a few years ago.
At the moment, I direct and produce content for celebrities and businesses. I’ve been blessed to have worked with talent like Dave Chappelle, Khalid, Kevin Hart, AT&T, Sienna Mae, Svedka Vodka, Deorro, Sarunas Jackson, and more.
I really got into making videos from the beginning. My father was always running around the house with his VHS camera filming the family. When I got a little older, I would sneak the camera to my room and film myself doing whatever. There was just something special about being able to rewatch pure moments.
While at college, in Idaho, I came across Rory Kramers “Dare to Live” MTV episode where he was filming one of Khalid’s live music performances. I remember sitting on the couch and turning to my partner and saying, “That’s what I want to do. I’m going to work with Khalid.”
9 months later, I was shooting a video for him.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I wouldn’t say it’s always been a smooth road for me.
Earlier on, I used to struggle with others’ opinions on what I was doing. They thought it was a waste of my time. Now they say, “You should do this! They’re making a lot of money!”.
However, it doesn’t bother me now. Those experiences taught me the valuable lesson to confidently tackle any type of pressure. As the famous saying goes, “When we long for life without difficulties, remind us that oaks grow strong in contrary winds and diamonds are made under pressure.” – Peter Marshall
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Some know me as the guy that did work for Khalid or Dave Chappelle or Sienna Mae.
I produce and direct behind-the-scenes and promotional videos for brands, personalities, and celebrities. My services range from one-minute videos, for social media, to hour-long documentary films.
I also do photography work, and apparently, I’m gifted in it as Jennifer Lopez’s camp told me, “Photographer” could be my first title.
In addition, I do offer video editing services to those that want to hire a video editor.
The thing that I am most proud about is my drive to not quit on myself. It hasn’t always been easy being away from family. As an uncle, I want to be able to support my nieces and nephews and obnoxiously cheer them on at events. However, I feel like I’ve been given a responsibility to use my talents to help others be able tell their story. Along with writing my own.
What are your plans for the future?
The plan for the future is to continue to produce the best content for brands and professionals. I have a lot of new processes in place to ensure each project is completed in excellence.
