Life & Work with Cheryle Brown-Williamson of Long Beach/Huntington Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cheryle Brown-Williamson.

Hi Cheryle, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Prior to my real estate career, my skill set was in the corporate world working with 2 of the big 4 accounting firms. Having this background provided me the strong work ethics to help my clients by using the latest technology, doing it with elegance. It all started when I purchase a new construction home and had to go to a design center to pick out the flooring, cabinets and everything for the home with an interior design person. I have alway been the person someone would come to when they need help with their home, hanging curtains, hanging pictures, even tiling floors, painting was no problem for me. So when I was picking the items out with the designer I ask how she got this job because I would love to do that. This was all well before HGTV shows. LOL! So she told me she took interior design classes in school. I didn’t want to spend more time in school again, so I found a certification training in home staging. So I took the training, got certified and started my business in 2010. Since I am my business, I have staged homes from coast to coast, starting here in California, Atlanta & Florida. After working with builders in Florida, staging homes, doing open houses. (You can do open houses in Florida without a RE License) I decided to get my real estate license to add to my staging business. That’s where I am today handling this full circle of real estate.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Life is not always smooth as we all know. Getting business in each city I moved to was always a struggle at first. Florida was easy, somehow It got known that I was there, I was in a smaller city called Naples. I started networking and people knew me before I got there. Word spread that a designer was in town and it was great from there. The next struggle I had was getting my real estate license. That was not easy for me. I had to take it a few times. Glad that struggle is over. Now I plan to work on my Broker license.

Cheryle is the CEO of CA Real Estate with Cheryle brokered by eXp Realty of California in Long Beach/Huntington Beach, California. Cheryle has 11 years of Real Estate experience in Sales & Home Staging with Just the Right Touch Home Staging as she is also the CEO of. She has provided impressive service from coast to coast. She has brought this service to Orange County and the Greater Los Angeles areas. Buyers, Sellers, and Investors are her specialty.

Cheryle stays up to date on the latest marketing trends and the cutting edge of Real Estate Technology & Marketing. Cheryle has the drive and vision to be on top of the new and always changing trends. Cheryle has been an active member of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB) since 2018. Serving as the Founding President for Beach City Realtist (BCR) in Orange County.

Cheryle also serves as Women’s Council of Realtors (South Bay) as 2023 & 2024 Treasurer, 2023 and 2021 Events Director for Southwest Riverside network, along with serving on the California Association of Realtors (CAR) 2021 Gov’t Affairs Committee and California Association of Black Real Estate Professionals (CABREP). This is along with Just the Right Touch Home Staging business. Both businesses work simultaneously together, It’s really great when I stage a home, do an open house and find a buyer for the home and sell it. That is my dream transaction.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I guess people say I take risks when I move to another city/state and have to start life all over. I don’t look at it that way. I look at it as a new adventure that I need to conquer, learning new areas, getting around, meeting new people, everything is new and I love that adventure. Some look at it as a risk that they never take, I look at it as a new adventure and make the best out of it.
