Life & Work with Chayanika Baishya

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chayanika Baishya.

Hi Chayanika, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I am always been fascinated, curious, and excited about the cultural world. I love to research, study, learn, and understand in depth the things that I am so passionate about. My family plays an astonishing role in it, I have grown up seeing my parents and family and how they are so much in love and affectionate about the world of music and culture. My first live dance performance on stage was at age four and then I was modeling from the age of six years. It all has had a great influence on me, as I felt so alive and amazing performing in front of millions of people, it boosts my confidence. I love singing and rapping, creating, writing, and composing songs. I have worked as a playback singer-songwriter in four different feature films in Assam, India. Apart from the film songs, I have created some other single songs. I have also acted in a couple of theaters on a National Level back in India.

Los Angeles has always been my dream destination and it gives me immense pleasure that I finally made it here where I am learning and experiencing life, living my dreams, and working on my passion in the best possible way. At present, I am an acting student at New York Film Academy, Los Angeles. There have been a lot of student short films in Los Angeles where I have worked as an actor in these films. The journey has been an upside-down Rollercoaster ride, can’t wait to see how and where it takes me from here…

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has never been a smooth ride till now. I have faced some hurdles and criticism through out my journey so far, which sometimes made me feel like stopping everything and never dreaming. I have also met some of the best and the worst people. However, the passion flame inside me is so strong and dynamic that makes me keep going and keep working hard on my passion and dreams.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am an Actor, Rapper, Singer-Songwriter, and Composer and this is what I am mostly known for. My stage name is Synicah. I have sung and written many songs for Assamese Feature Films in India. Apart from creativity, I have completed my Graduation in Geography and Master’s in Educational Management. I am most proud of the moment when I manifested that someday I would come to LA and work on my dreams and I finally made it here. I feel so spirited and motivated to work harder and keep going. I think I am a person of inquisitiveness who has a lot to learn and provide to the world. I believe in faith and also in hard/smart work, which makes me pretty dynamic in my thoughts and feelings. I am a firm believer in spreading positivity around, whatever situation it might be all I feel is to never give up, there will be ups and downs many times, but somehow there always comes the day after the darkest night.

I am thankful to God, my parents, family members, friends, and also all my teachers and professors for always being my rock and support. They have not only supported me physically but also mentally and emotionally to overcome challenges and give my best.
