Life & Work with Brittany Larson of La Mirada

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Larson

Hi Brittany, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Honestly, I don’t even know where to start. I was born into this world with awareness and attunement to my Spiritual abilities. I struggled in a highly religiously devout household, where I was severely abused. By age 14 years old, I told on my mother and she was convicted for abusing me. By age 21 years old, I moved across the country with a backpack and started over completely on someone’s floor. Shortly afterward I was shunned for being gay. I started from nothing all over again bouncing from relationship to relationship until I had enough strength to stare deeply into my own darkness long enough to see my own reflection. It was through a great deal of pain that I began to rise up to heights I never even knew I could. It was through my own healing journey that I started my Spiritual business in helping others. I offer 21 different metaphysical services through zoom calls all over the world. I specialize in reading traumatic experiences, emotional patterns, ancestral lineage and past lives. My goal in one on one sessions is to offer real world strategy plans and release methods tailored specifically to the client that actually will work in releasing the wounds they carry. I feel strongly that combining mental health awareness with Spirituality can be life changing. Along my healing journey I started creating video content and performing livestreams across social media to help others understand spirituality and mental health in ways that I needed but could not find. It was through this creative experience that I started my full time business. I became the person that I needed during my healing journey and now I get the privilege of being the person that is able to support others in the ways I needed. This isn’t just a business to me, this is a calling.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t always been easy. One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced is the judgment of others. Blending the worlds of psychology and spirituality makes some people uncomfortable, it challenges established norms and expectations. Early on, I faced heavy criticism from both sides. Some within the psychology community were skeptical, fearing my work might do more harm than good, while peers in the spiritual community told me to ‘stay in my lane.’ Rather than shrinking in response, I leaned in. I invited skeptics, psychologists, therapists, and critics to book a session with me and experience the work firsthand. Many of them did, and now, they’re some of my most loyal clients. Through this journey, I’ve learned that maintaining humility, integrity, and transparency in the face of criticism fosters growth, not just for me, but for the collective. It’s not about stubbornly defending your stance it’s about remaining open to deeper understanding while standing firm in your truth. Today, I receive far less criticism, not because the world has changed, but because I’ve proven the power of my work.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I offer 21 different metaphysical services via Zoom, working with clients all over the world. My specialty lies in reading traumatic experiences, emotional patterns, ancestral lineage, and past lives. My goal in every session is to provide real-world strategies and release methods tailored specifically to each client, offering not just insight but actionable healing. I am absolutely obsessed with my work as a Psychic Medium. Even on my days off, I am connecting with Spirit, uncovering new insights, and expanding my understanding. One of my most fascinating side projects is channeling serial killers, not to sensationalize them, but to prove that evil does not exist. This work has led me to groundbreaking realizations about ancestral patterns, generational trauma, and human behavior. My work is my life, and I bring my passion into every session, whether it is a one-time experience or a long-term mentorship. Because of my neutral stance and non-dogmatic approach, I have the privilege of working with people from all walks of life across all faiths, ages, and backgrounds. Over the years, I have been known as ‘The Past Life Girl’ and ‘The Girl Who Takes the Crazy Away.’ I have sat with grieving families, cheating spouses, convicted felons, abuse survivors, and so many others, holding space for them to be fully witnessed in their journey. What sets me apart is the unique team of Spiritual Guides I work with. They are souls who were experts in their fields before passing, along with other evolved beings dedicated to emotional evolution. They have taught me to mourn with those who mourn, support those who need strength, laugh with those who find joy, and hold space for those in darkness. The most profound part of my journey is that I have become the very person I needed in my darkest moments. It is a gift to have walked my own path of healing and now be able to offer that same serenity to others.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Oh boy, have I taken many risks! I do not consider myself a rule follower. My experiences in dysfunctional family dynamics conditioned me to always think outside the box. I have never been someone who simply accepts the status quo, and I believe that pushing boundaries is necessary for both personal and professional growth. Risk-taking is an essential part of owning a business. It requires the willingness to expand beyond the limits of your field, to challenge norms, and to trust yourself even when the path is uncertain. I have approached my work in the same way by combining various healing techniques to create methods that truly work for clients. No client is ever the same, which means their needs are different, and the approach has to be different as well. One of the biggest risks I have taken is blending the worlds of spirituality and psychology despite having no formal degree and no license as a psychologist. Many people told me it would not work, that the two fields were too different, and that I would face constant criticism. They were right about the criticism, but they were wrong about it not working. Through my spiritual guidance and deep intuitive wisdom, I have gained the respect of professionals in both fields, which is a testament to my connection, my ability to read energy, and my commitment to real transformation. I now have psychologists and therapists as clients, seeking my insights not as a licensed professional, but as someone who sees beyond traditional frameworks. While I take bold steps forward in my work, I do not take reckless risks. Every choice I make is intentional and guided by the needs of my clients. Safety is and will always be my top priority. True risk is not about throwing yourself into uncertainty without thought, but about having the courage to trust your vision while staying grounded in integrity. The greatest risk I have ever taken was betting on myself. Leaving behind everything I once knew, stepping away from societal expectations, and carving my own path was terrifying, but it was also the most rewarding decision I have ever made.
