Life & Work with Boris Haliad-Elul of Traveling

Today we’d like to introduce you to Boris Haliad-Elul.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My Story

I worked in the field of physical therapy for about 15 years, and over time I began to notice something deeper happening in my sessions. I realized that the body often carries and expresses the emotions we never fully process — our unspoken grief, anger, fear, or shame. These unexpressed feelings would show up as tension, pain, or dysfunction in my patients’ bodies.

Curious, I started gently exploring this connection with them — asking what might have been happening in their lives when the pain began, or what emotion that part of their body might be holding. To my surprise, the correlations were striking. When clients acknowledged or expressed the emotion behind the symptom, many experienced not only emotional relief but also a noticeable decrease in physical pain. I began applying the same principles to my own life, and the results were equally profound.

This curiosity and transformation led me to pursue formal training in the field of somatic therapy. I completed multiple certifications, with my primary training in Core Energetics — a powerful modality focused on moving stuck emotional energy through ownership, expression, and reconnection to the “core,” our most authentic self.

That work opened the door to a deep personal journey — healing childhood trauma, transforming my relationships with my parents and brothers, and rediscovering passions I had long postponed. It also gave me the freedom to travel the world and live in alignment with my purpose.

Today, my practice is a blend of somatic therapy, coaching, and spiritual and emotional development. I specialize in helping young professionals and individuals who have already done some personal work but still feel stuck — whether in their career, relationships, or sense of purpose. My mission is to help people reconnect to their bodies, release old patterns, and create lives that feel aligned, alive, and free.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
When COVID hit, I made a major life change. I moved to Orange County and decided to leave my long-time career in physical therapy to focus fully on somatic work. It was a huge leap — and honestly, a scary one. I was living off my savings for almost a year, with only three clients total. There were moments when I questioned everything — whether I had made a mistake, whether I could really build something sustainable doing the work I loved.

But that year taught me more than any success ever could. It forced me to embody the very principles I teach — trust, presence, surrender, and resilience. Slowly, things began to shift. I started attracting clients who were ready to go deeper, people drawn to this blend of somatic therapy, coaching, and emotional-spiritual development. My practice grew, and for the first time, it truly felt like an expression of my soul’s work.

Then, just as things were really starting to thrive, I felt another call — to evolve again. I decided to restructure my practice and travel through Europe, dedicating time to deepen my training, expand my consciousness, and refine my therapeutic skills. Once again, my client base dropped to almost nothing. But by then, I understood the rhythm of expansion and contraction. I trusted that this pause had purpose.

I spent that time studying, creating, and reconnecting to my essence — not just as a practitioner, but as a human being. And when I relaunched my practice, it came back stronger than ever. My client base didn’t just return; it grew far beyond what it had ever been before. People could feel the depth of transformation I had personally lived through. My work became more grounded, more intuitive, and more powerful than I could have imagined.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a somatic therapist, coach, owner of a practice that helps people reconnect to their bodies, heal emotional patterns, and live in alignment with their authentic selves. My work blends somatic therapy, emotional integration, and coaching with elements of spiritual and creative development — because I believe transformation happens when we address the whole human being, not just the mind.

What I specialize in is helping people who have already done some level of personal growth but still feel stuck — whether in their relationships, career, or sense of purpose. Often, these are individuals who are highly self-aware but find that awareness alone isn’t enough to create the change they want. Through embodiment practices, emotional processing, and inner dialogue work, I help them move beyond mental insight into actual energetic and behavioral shifts.

My background in physical therapy gives me a unique lens. I understand how emotional energy manifests in the body — through tension, pain, or chronic patterns — and I use that knowledge to guide clients into releasing what’s been held inside for years. My sessions often weave together grounding, breathwork, movement, and compassionate inquiry. Clients don’t just “talk about” change — they feel it in their bodies.

What I’m most proud of is the depth of transformation I’ve witnessed — not only in others but through walking this path myself. I’ve lived every principle I teach. I’ve rebuilt my life and career multiple times, traveled the world while running my practice, and healed relationships I once thought were impossible to repair. That lived experience allows me to meet clients with empathy, precision, and authenticity.

What sets my work apart is the integration of science, soul, and embodiment. I bridge the clinical understanding of the body from my years as a physical therapist with the energetic and emotional intelligence of somatic psychology. The result is a deeply grounded, experiential process that helps people not just understand who they are — but become it, fully.

What does success mean to you?
By gaging how well I can live by my own values in every part of my life without sacrifice, self abandon or sabotage. When this aligns, everything, and everyone around me benefits.
