Today we’d like to introduce you to Beryl Gore.
Beryl, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am an upcoming reggae artist that moved to California to follow my music career. I started playing bass when I was 12 years old. I became obsessed with music and learning how to play every instrument that would help me record my own music… I write and record all of my own original music and produce as well. Something about reggae and dancehalls sounds has always caught my attention.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Writing music and producing has been the easy part for me. Using the creative part of my mind has never been a problem. The hardest part about being an artist not on a big label has been marketing and promoting. I have studied music marketing and promotion to further my music career.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am known for songwriting and have been ghostwriting with many artists. What sets me apart from other artists is being able to play numerous instruments and making a song come to life by myself. I had the opportunity to learn from one of the greatest producers Daniel Lanois. I then took everything I learned and put it into my own production.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I took a major risk coming to Los Angeles and leaving my family to pursue my passion. Making a huge change in your life may be scary but I think if your passionate enough about what you are doing, everything will fall into place.
