Today, we’d like to introduce you to Bailey Lortscher.

Bailey Lortscher

Hi Bailey, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I was a preschool teacher for four years, and during this time, I started an Instagram account to share pictures of my pup with family and friends. Over time, I began posting more about my life with my dog, and this content started gaining traction. As my following grew, I attracted brands, which opened new opportunities for me. After a few years of being a teacher, I knew I hadn’t found my passion, so I wanted to start working on my social media more to see what I could learn from doing it more consistently.

Eventually, I was making enough from social media to consider a significant lifestyle change. This allowed me to travel full-time with my boyfriend while he was campaigning for the 2024 Olympics. This period of constant travel and new experiences significantly shifted my content from primarily dog-centric posts to include lifestyle, wellness, vlogs, and self-growth. I share a lot about our journey over the last four years: buying a 1997 RV and renovating it, living in an RV for a few years, traveling the world full-time, living a healthy lifestyle, my self-growth journey, being a dog mom, and more!

Today, I am a full-time content creator on social media. This journey has been incredibly fulfilling, providing me with the opportunity to pursue my passion wholeheartedly. It has also been a tremendous learning experience, contributing significantly to my personal growth. I am excited to continue evolving and sharing this journey with my audience.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like any career, social media has its ups and downs and unique challenges. Instagram often serves as a ‘highlight reel,’ and even when I try to share difficult moments, it can still appear as if I am living a ‘perfect life.’ This perception can lead people to think that I have never faced struggles in my career.

The reality is that there have been many highs and lows on my social media journey, shaping me into who I am today. One crucial lesson I’ve learned is not to tie my self-worth to likes, followers, or other metrics. If you do, you’ll find yourself constantly chasing the next milestone without appreciating how far you’ve come.

There’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes in doing social media full-time. It involves a considerable amount of work, including editing, negotiating deals, managing emails, and more. It’s a demanding job that requires dedication and resilience, but it’s also incredibly rewarding when you focus on genuine connections and growth rather than just the numbers.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar with what you do, what can you tell them about what you do?
As a full-time social media professional, I collaborate with brands to create engaging and impactful content, with a strong focus on building genuine relationships.

What sets me apart is my unique lifestyle, authenticity, and drive. My lifestyle provides me with fresh perspectives and creative ideas that infuse authenticity into my content.

If you follow along on my page, I share a lot about finding a healthy balance and staying on top of my health well, living an unconventional lifestyle, and how the 80/20 rule changed my life. My drive ensures that I am always pushing the boundaries and exploring new strategies to enhance brand presence.

What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The biggest lesson I have learned is that you have to stand up for what you deserve.

There are many amazing brands to work with, but some will try to take advantage and make you feel as if you deserve less. Being confident in knowing what you deserve is crucial and the most significant lesson I have learned.

Additionally, it’s important to love what you do and not just create content you think others want to see. It’s easy to get stuck in creating only trending content or content you know performs well, which can be fun, but it’s essential to also post what you love and to find the style of content you enjoy creating.

Your worth is not tied to views and followers; understanding this has been a fundamental realization in my journey.
