Life & Work with Ana Gómez Villafañe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ana Gómez Villafañe.

Hi Ana, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born and raised in a small city in Patagonia, Argentina. I started experimenting with photography when I was in high school. It quickly became clear that pursuing a career in the field was what I wanted. After graduating from High School I moved to the United States and started taking classes, seminars, and internships. In 2006 I got my first job as a professional photographer and I’ve been involved in different industries of photography ever since. Having experience in so many fields provided me with great knowledge. All of those environments challenged me personally and professionally and resulted in immense growth. Today, I specialize in portraiture, fashion, and weddings.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. More like one step forward (sometimes more), one step backward, and so on. I am grateful for it all because those obstacles and challenges are what keep you humble, flexible, and open-minded along the way.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Today, photographically speaking, I specialize in portraiture, weddings, and fashion. But I also do other artistic stuff outside of photography such as watercolor botanical art.

I am proud that despite some adversities and setbacks along the way, I kept pushing and pursuing a career in the arts. I never doubted my creative abilities, and I always kept curiosity alive.
