Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Reardon.
Hi Alexis, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Tanya and I started South Bay Pop in November of 2021 as a creative outlet and a fun activity to do with our daughters. We are surprised at the amount of inquiries, referrals and returning customers we’ve had! It’s so much fun to watch our customers see their vision for their event come to life. We have even more love for this business than the day we started it.
We use only the highest quality latex that is biodegradable and reusable/recyclable foil balloons to do what we can to bring beautiful balloons garlands to local events while remaining environmentally conscious.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
We started out by donating to local charity events like the Holiday Home Tours hosted by the Sandpipers organization and have mostly grown through word of mouth. It was a bit of a slow start, but we’ve already more than doubled our sales in 2023 from last year.
We are both busy working moms who needed to find efficient ways to get the word out about our business so that took a little bit of time to figure out.
Great customer service goes a long way so making sure that we over-deliver has been really important for us to grow through referrals.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We’re known for beautiful environmentally conscious balloon garlands. We are versatile enough to try new things that our customers ask for, but our signature style uses 3-4 sizes of balloons and typically 3-5 colors. We love adding in flowers, and even things as unique as stuffed animals or lemons into our garlands.

We live for the moments when our customers tell us that the balloons made their party. We really love what we do.
