Life & Work with Adrian Echevarria

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrian Echevarria.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Some people call me Che. I am an artist based out of Orange County California born and raised. Ever since I could remember I’ve always liked drawing it took me away from my environment or anything negative that was going on around me. When I was younger, I would watch my uncle tattoo other family members once he got released from jail. When I hit 14, I decided to try it out for myself. He showed me how to make a homemade machine and I would tattoo my homies from school, fast forward to about 2012, I quit my job and started my apprenticeship. One day turned into years and one brick turned into a wall. A couple of studios later, I know I have 16 years of experience under my belt. The journey was everything but easy, it made me dig deep down inside and find out who I truly was as a person. From point a to point B the process was unfair but 100% worth it and I would do it over and over again each and every single time. Through art, I’m able to provide for my family and put food on the table for my son. I’m able to show others there is a way out and with a set mind anything can be accomplished in this life and never let anybody tell you otherwise. Life is good and God is great, thank you all for taking a moment of your time to read my passage and get to know a little bit about me.

God bless and one love…

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There is no progress without struggle. In order to excel in your field or in order to obtain a certain goal or achieve a certain aspiration you will face adversity. During those moments, you will find out if this was truly meant for you and define you as a person. Don’t let those moments discourage you just keep pushing forward no matter what happens don’t stop!

Never Break – Never Fold

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I would like to consider myself as an artist. I specialize in realism and lettering. It can be color or black and gray, traditional, portraits, Japanese, or geometric, I love it all. I also like to work with graphite acrylic paint and oil paint, canvases, my camera, murals, digital art, as long as I can create, I’m all for it.

What matters most to you?
My family period. I’ve never been a materialistic person and I’ve never allowed money to alter my perspective on the morals and values that I was taught as a young kid. Anything in life that’s material, I can break it, burn it, throw it away, and just as easy I’m able to replace it. Things in life that have true value and I mean true value like time, love, and family things of that nature are irreplaceable.
