Life and Work with Sisian Arzoomanian

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sisian Arzoomanian.

Sisian, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
For as long as I can remember, styling hair has been a true passion of mine from a very young age! From accessorizing and braiding my own hair to being asked to style my friends hair at school during lunch, hair has always been a part of who I am. Being the daughter of a hair dresser, I was always excited to be around clients when my mom would work on them! It always felt like styling was second nature to me but as I grew up and moved to the States, goals and plans changed. Education became a priority and so I decided to reach for a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design. Sure enough, I never stopped styling hair in my spare time! It was always my favorite hobby. And I am proud to have been able to turn my hobby into a career.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
There definitely have been challenges and obstacles along the way. Being a new starting entrepreneur who wanted to put away her degree to pursue her passion in a completely different field came with a lot of ups and downs. Opening up COVAĆ Beauty Bar was one of the most challenging yet rewarding decisions I’ve ever made and I can easily say that I would not change a thing. It was a struggle for some time to convince my parents that bringing my vision to life was what I was determined to achieve! As supportive as they are, they wanted me to choose the best career path as every parent would. If there was one advice, I could pass along to young women sharing a similar journey would be to stick to your instincts and push for what you love and believe in! The results are magical!

Please tell us about COVAĆ Beauty Bar.
I absolutely love styling and I definitely specialize in curls or otherwise known as the “Hollywood Waves.” I have been honing my craft and learning the best ways to style hair matching the client’s features. I take a lot of pride in the relationships I have established with my clients and the trust I have gained making sure that each and every client looks unique in their own special way! Most importantly, I make sure that all of my clients walk out with a smile on their face.

What advice would you give to someone at the start of her career?
Always strive for more than mediocre because chances are, if you try, you will succeed and never be afraid of taking risks.
