Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with fernanda neu

We recently had the chance to connect with fernanda neu and have shared our conversation below.

fernanda, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
I think one of the biggest misunderstandings about my industry is the idea that it’s “slow” right now.
From the outside, it can look like things have slowed down, but I don’t really see it that way. I think the market is actually changing. The way stories are developed, financed, distributed, and consumed is evolving, so the rhythm of the industry feels different from what it used to be.
It’s not like the old times anymore — but not necessarily in a bad way. It’s just a transition. There’s a lot happening beneath the surface, and I think this shift is opening space for new voices, formats, and kinds of storytelling that wouldn’t have existed before.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Fernanda Neu I’m a filmmaker and storyteller focused on creating visually bold and emotionally resonant films. I like exploring projects that mix strong aesthetics with human stories, whether it’s independent films, branded content, or experimental work. Right now, I’m working on projects that push creative boundaries while telling stories that matter—stories that stick with people after the credits roll.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child, I believed I had to be quiet, perfect, and “easy” to be accepted. Today, I don’t believe that anymore. I know that my voice, my sensitivity, and the way I see the world are not weaknesses—they’re the reason I create. What I once thought made me “too much” is actually what makes my work meaningful. I also know now that I don’t want to be in places—or around people—where I’m not truly wanted.

When you were sad or scared as a child, what helped?
When I was sad or scared as a child, I would escape into fanfics, books, and yes… One Direction. Losing myself in stories and music made the world feel a little less overwhelming and reminded me that there was magic and connection out there—even on the hardest days.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What do you believe is true but cannot prove?
Honestly… probably that the moon landing could have been staged if they wanted to,I know it’s wild, but there’s just something about it that doesn’t sit right with me. I think the moonlanding happened, but they definetly had a plan B. They made a movie about it right>

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people remember me as someone who was fun, who brought out the best in people—but mostly, just fun. Someone they wanted to be around, who made life a little lighter and more exciting just by being there.
