Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with D-Win of Los Angeles

D-Win shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

D-Win, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What battle are you avoiding?
The battle I am avoiding is the one that leads to a first class admission into hell. I know what it feels like to live without direction, chasing things that never bring peace. I have seen how easy it is to get caught up in the world and lose sight of what really matters. I made a decision to walk with Christ because I realized nothing this world offers compares to the peace and strength that comes from God.

Choosing a Christian lifestyle is not about being perfect. It is about being honest with yourself and knowing you need something greater than what this world can give. Every day I wake up thankful that I found my purpose through faith. My focus is to inspire others to see that you can still be successful, creative, and driven while living for God. When you put Him first, everything else begins to align in ways you could never imagine.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is D Win. I am a rapper, designer, and creative entrepreneur based in Los Angeles. I am the founder of Winfield, a lifestyle brand that connects fashion, music, and faith. What makes my brand unique is that it represents growth and purpose. Everything I create carries a message about becoming the best version of yourself through faith and creativity. Right now I am expanding Winfield through new collections and music releases that remind people you can live with ambition and still walk with God.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
What breaks the bonds between people is pride, lack of communication, and a loss of understanding. When people stop listening and start defending their ego, distance begins to grow. I believe what restores those bonds is forgiveness, love, and humility. When you bring God into the center of a relationship, healing starts to take place. Real connection comes from grace and choosing to see people through the eyes of love instead of judgment. That is what keeps relationships strong and unbreakable.

Is there something you miss that no one else knows about?
I miss living in Chicago. That city taught me a lot about life, discipline, and chasing dreams. It was the place where I discovered who I wanted to become. Chicago gave me a sense of hunger and creativity that still lives in everything I do today. Even though I live in Los Angeles now, a part of my heart will always belong to that city and the version of me that was built there.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say that what really matters to me is my peace, my taste for a luxury life, and my drive to chase my dreams until they become reality. They know I value balance, faith, and ambition. I love the finer things in life, but I also care deeply about protecting my spirit and staying aligned with God. I will go to the end of the world working for what I believe in because I know my purpose is bigger than me.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people say that it was all worth it. That I gave everything I had and never hesitated to put it all on the line to chase my dreams. I want people to remember that I lived for God, stood on faith, and never settled for less than what I was called to be. Living for God is the only way, and I do not comprehend poor in spirit, mindset, or effort. I want my story to remind people that with faith, discipline, and vision, you can create a life that honors both purpose and success.
