Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Channing Sparks of Los Angeles, CA

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Channing Sparks. Check out our conversation below.

Channing, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A typical day for me is a mix of content creation, movement, and community. Mornings usually start with filming content, heading to the gym, or squeezing in appointments/errands. During the day, I work at a Latin/Ballroom dance studio, where I teach, manage the front desk, and connect with students until around 8 pm. Evenings are for training — taking classes, rehearsing, or refining my craft — and I usually end the day planning/journaling or connecting with family! It’s busy, but it’s deeply aligned with the life I’m building as a creative in LA.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Channing Sparks — a dancer, performer, and creative based in Los Angeles. I work in the commercial dance industry while actively training across multiple styles, and I’m building a career that blends performance, content creation, and community. My brand is rooted in authenticity, movement, and showing what it really looks like to pursue a creative life in LA — the discipline, the joy, and the behind-the-scenes work it takes to keep going.

This year, I’m also focusing on acting and commercial print, growing my digital presence, and leaning fully into my identity as a proud pink girly — because creativity should feel fun, expressive, and authentic to you.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My earliest memory of feeling powerful goes back to my early years in musical theater growing up in Chicago. Being on stage in front of a crowd was the first time I felt truly fearless — I wasn’t afraid to look people right in the eye, to take up space, and to entertain. Seeing the audience light up and genuinely enjoy what I was doing gave me a sense of confidence and connection that I hadn’t felt anywhere else, and it’s a feeling I’ve been chasing and building on ever since.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes — there was a time I almost gave up. I had people in positions of power in my life who were not very kind, especially during a formative period when I was still discovering who I was as an artist. Their words and lack of belief stayed with me, and for a while, it deeply shook my confidence and made me question my love for my craft.

What helped me through was perseverance, the love of my family, and the unwavering support of my true village. I grew stronger in my faith, rebuilt my confidence, and slowly found my way back to what I love. That experience taught me that no one else gets to define your future — and that the doubt meant to break you can become the very fuel that pushes you forward.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes — the public version of me is real and authentic. That said, like most people in today’s world, what’s shared publicly tends to show more of the highs than the lows. I’m intentional about keeping the most personal parts of my life private, especially on digital platforms. As I continue to broaden my digital presence, I’m working toward sharing more authentically, but there will always be a clear and healthy boundary around my privacy — and I think that balance is important.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
I think people would miss my energy the most — the encouragement, warmth, and sense of connection I bring into a room. I genuinely love uplifting others and making people feel seen, confident, and supported, and that spirit naturally carries into everything I do.
