We’re looking forward to introducing you to Amir Al-Qadaffi. Check out our conversation below.
Hi Amir, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Moments with my daughter are always filled with joy. She started kindergarten last week, and turned 5 recently as well, so it’s been a fun summer of growth and creating core memories.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Amir — a talent manager, DJ, and entrepreneur.
I recently founded Hot Slice Creative, a strategy and creative services company built to help artists, creators, and brands sharpen their identity and expand their reach without losing what makes them original. My career started by booking shows in my local scene before moving on to talent management and touring. As my career progressed I was drawn to the bigger picture and to helping artists and entrepreneurs navigate the pitfalls and challenges I’d seen hurt others along the way.
Right now, I’m excited to be working with artists like Myke Terry (Volumes / Fire From the Gods) and Dr. Genieve Burley (wellness leader and media personality), while also co-developing new touring and event concepts with the Metalcore Night brand, as well as mentoring various other musicians and artists.
What makes us unique is the way we work: we offer flexible, a-la-carte solutions that meet each client where they are and grow with them. For me, the work is about guidance, momentum, and alignment — positioning clients to move forward with clarity, creativity, and impact.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
The part of me that did not prioritize my goals, needs, and objectives has served its purpose and I have been slowly releasing it the last few years.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering has taught me to enjoy success!
Failure, and suffering are inherent parts of our experience as humans never mind when you add in being a risk taker or entrepreneur. I think it may be difficult to truly appreciate the high of success without having experienced the lows of failure.
Fail/Suffer. Learn. Move on… towards success!
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I am committed to my belief that when I plan for something I will be successful at it, I reflect on previous endeavors and successes to maintain this belief and focus.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. When have you had to bet the company?
I haven’t had to “bet the company” yet, but taking the leap to launch Hot Slice Creative was its own risk.
For many artists and entrepreneurs, the real gamble is often stepping forward when others doubt you, including family or loved ones. For me, that journey has been less about betting everything at once and more about betting on myself, and that’s been the biggest, most important risk so far.
