Today we’d like to introduce you to Zarina Makhanbetzhan.
Hi Zarina, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was born in Almaty, Kazakhstan a city that is set in the foothills of the Trans-Ili Alatau mountains.
From a young age, I was a very enthusiastic child, I participated in everything. For many years I was fond of tennis, volleyball, music and much more. I even managed to participate in a beauty contest where I won first place. My childhood was very amusing and eventful, my parents always supported me in all my endeavors. Now looking back, I understand how all of this helped shape me as a creative person and many of these interests have remained unchanged to this day.
In 2019, I did my Master at the European Institute of Design in Milan, Italy. Growing up, I loved sketching and becoming a fashion designer was one of my dreams, so I decided to pursue my passion. At the same time, I worked as an assistant to a well-known fashion stylist, which gave me a sense of direction of what I really wanted and I wanted to stay in a Fashion Industry. At the end of the year, my boyfriend came to visit in Milan to celebrate the new year with me and during this time, he proposed to me
So I moved to Boston with my fiancé where we got engaged. Then during the pandemic, we decided to move to Los Angeles to build our future. We love to experience new places and different cultures—every experience is meaningful for us and Los Angeles was one of these places. It’s a big city with lots of opportunities, so we decided to take our chances.
I love how in every country, city, I always discover myself in a new way. After moving here, I started working as a fashion stylist while also taking a great interest in photography. In 2022, I opened my company Zarvizon and just a month ago we became parents. Life is so beautiful and it never stops to amaze me.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There are always difficulties somewhere. I always try to focus only on the good. Life is about movement, you always need to move forward.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At the end of the year 2021, I found out that I was pregnant. My whole pregnancy I have been working on the launch of my start-up. I was very active and productive even my mom was joking that my son’s first word would definitely be “work”. On the 1st of June 2022, I officially launched Zarvizion.
Zarvizion is an online multi-brand concept store that provides unique clothes from all over the world with great quality and affordable for everyone. Zarvizion has been quite a long time on my mind. For the past years, I’ve been working in a fashion industry but in my heart, I always knew that I want to create something on my own. I want to share my vision with people. I always wanted to inspire and empower women. Zarvizion is all about a style universe with one mission to help women find the right pieces to the puzzle.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
I began to value time and my loved ones more. You never know what might happen tomorrow so make the most of life today…
