Today we’d like to introduce you to VR Productions.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hi I’m Veronica, I’m originally from Flint, Michigan and later in life joined the United States Army and ended up leaving that career after time served to pursue acting and directing. I’m now lucky enough to be a part of the upcoming short film girl crush!
Hi I’m Ramona, I grew up in Beaverton, Oregon as a very shy kid. I was going into my first year of high school when I decided to push myself by auditioning for a school play, and I quickly fell in love! After that, I graduated High School early and moved to Los Angeles this past fall and am lucky enough to be making my first movie this spring!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Making movies outside of school when you’re lucky enough to also be a full-time student is incredibly challenging. We are also both complete new-comers to filmmaking as a whole so there have been some very hard nights. But, at the end of the day, we are so lucky to look back and see how far we’ve come. Putting all that hard work in and seeing something real come out of it is everything an artist could ask for and more.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about VR Productions?
We are VR productions, a women- and veteran-owned indie film company dedicated to telling bold, character-driven stories that challenge perspectives and amplify underrepresented voices. Based in Los Angeles, we specialize in independent films that merge raw authenticity with compelling narratives, focusing on stories that often go untold in mainstream media.
What sets us apart is our commitment to fostering emerging talent—both in front of and behind the camera. We believe in creating opportunities for women, veterans, and underrepresented artists, ensuring that our sets are inclusive, collaborative, and creatively empowering. Our productions embrace a low-budget, high-impact philosophy, proving that great storytelling doesn’t need excessive resources—just passion, vision, and the right team.
Brand-wise, we’re most proud of our dedication to authenticity and integrity in filmmaking. Every project we undertake is infused with purpose, heart, and a commitment to pushing artistic boundaries. From narrative shorts to feature films, our goal is to craft stories that resonate, inspire, and leave a lasting impression on audiences.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
There is something so special about getting to write and create art that comes directly from your heart, all while being in the city where everything happens. There really is something special about Los Angeles, it draws dreamers in.
