Inspiring Conversations with Stacy Mcalpine of Journey Fuel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stacy Mcalpine

Hi Stacy, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
As a former Strategic Advisor, Project Manager, and Change Management Consultant with top-tier consulting firms, including PricewaterhouseCoopers and Ernst and Young, I was called in to help some of the largest organizations on the planet (Google, State of California, US Departments of State, Homeland Security and Defense, to name a few) to turn their aspirations into reality. Along the way, my own personal quest for fulfillment led me to innovate the tools and techniques I used with my corporate clients into a reliable system that empowers individuals to achieve their own life change!

Recognizing the profound impact the change formula I created for individuals could have on millions of people worldwide, I founded Journey Fuel to share this proven approach to getting results that blends proven strategic planning and change practices with self-development principles, infused with a journey theme to add excitement and playfulness to the process.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Ha! Depends on how you define smooth 😉 It has been a very steep learning curve, but I have been very fortunate to have some incredible and experienced mentors along the way. The biggest challenge has been getting the word out broadly enough for those who haven’t already been exposed to me who need me most know what I offer and how to get to me!. And to get the messaging down to speak most directly to those who would be a good fit for my programs. The other challenge was in sustaining my own lifestyle and income along the way while I was still building my offers and business. I have invested significantly in the business and had to find a way to survive financially without sacrificing the things I care about most. I have had to get VERY resourceful through trades with others, taking on loans and debt, even dipping into my retirement money, betting on myself and my business, which can be very scary sometimes! But, I trust in the Universe and in my skills and value, and am starting to get my sea legs. My business has had some changes in methods and offerings as I learn more about what my clients are and aren’t ready for. But loving what I do and knowing that what I am doing is changing lives in my client’s lives, my daughters’ lives as they witness the strength and belief in going after what you want and making it happen no matter what comes at us, and my future clients, I have stayed the course and am incredibly excited to continue to see the light come on in the eyes and souls of the people who need what I bring to the market with the unique Journey Fuel formula and my consulting experience that has been missing from the personal development industry. And to help people get to the lives they love waking up to and enjoying the ride along the way!

As you know, we’re big fans of Journey Fuel. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I have created a change formula that is a fusion of what I learned through more than $100K investment in personal development programs, books, seminars, coaches, and trainings, with what I became an expert in over the course of the 20 years I helped some of the largest organizations on the planet make change. Over the course of my decades of experience as a strategic advisor, project management professional and change management consultant with Big 4 consulting firms making change for organizations including Google, US Departments of Homeland Security, Defense, and State as well as the State of California to name a few, I became an expert in the proven methods and tools used in industry for making change happen. On my own personal journey to a life I love, I tried everything that the personal development industry was teaching, but still wasn’t making change in my own life. It wasn’t until I started applying the tools and techniques I used with these large organizations that I began to change my life. It was the missing piece to get from knowing to doing. To make sure that I was clear on the outcomes I wanted and how to get there. And that’s why I started Journey Fuel because I knew millions of others needed this missing formula to finally have a life they love waking up to. To stop dreading their days ahead wondering if anything will ever get better, to absolutely loving their lives. I went from working 50-60 hour weeks as the sole breadwinner while my husband at the time was in law school full time, racking up over $200K in student loans, with a step daughter in high school, and two daughters under the age of 4, with an upside down mortgage and credit card debt to survive, dreading my days just trying to survive the day with no light I could see at the end of the tunnel to paying off my credit cards, working 40-hour weeks with 2 days a week working from home (pre-COVID) – which is unheard of in the Big 4 consulting world – enjoying my life. That was a decade ago. I now live in Palos Verdes with a 180degree view of the ocean, my girls now 15 and 19 riding horses and living amongst palm trees while I have the privilege and honor of coaching others to stop settling and find their ways to lives they just can’t believe are possible when they first meet me.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Adella, my golden doodle puppy, is my co-pilot and has become Journey Fuel’s mascot 🙂 She can often be seen running around behind me entertaining herself with random toys, and her coffee mug toy is one of her favorites – something we share in common! She is a smile generating machine, who keeps life light and can magically melt stress away from any situation with one puppy smile 🙂
