We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
While my journey in starting Olive & Fig Apothecary has been incredibly fulfilling, it hasn’t been without its challenges. Like any business venture, there have been obstacles along the way that we had to navigate through.

One of the main struggles we faced when starting a candle business was sourcing high-quality materials at affordable prices. We wanted to ensure that our candles were made with the best ingredients, such as natural soy wax and premium fragrances. Finding reliable suppliers who aligned with my values and offered competitive pricing took some time and research.

Another challenge was establishing a strong brand presence in a saturated market. With numerous candle businesses already in existence, standing out and creating a unique identity for Olive & Fig Apothecary required careful planning and creativity. We had to invest time and effort into developing a captivating brand story, creating visually appealing packaging, and effectively communicating the benefits of our products to potential customers.

Despite these challenges, we remain committed to our vision.

Overall, the journey has been both rewarding and challenging. The struggles we encountered have taught us valuable lessons and allowed us to grow both personally and professionally. We believe that overcoming obstacles is part of the entrepreneurial journey and has ultimately made us more resilient and determined to succeed in our self-care business.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Over the next 5-10 years, the self-care industry is expected to continue growing and evolving. One of the significant shifts we anticipate is a greater emphasis on sustainability and environmental consciousness. Consumers are becoming more mindful of their choices and are seeking products that align with their values. This trend will likely lead to an increased demand for eco-friendly and natural self-care products.

Another important trend is the integration of technology into the self-care experience. We can expect to see more personalized and interactive experiences through the use of apps, smart devices, and virtual platforms. This will enable customers to customize their self-care routines and access resources and guidance from experts in the industry.

Additionally, the focus on mental health and well-being is gaining momentum, and we foresee an increased interest in self-care practices that promote relaxation, mindfulness, and stress reduction. This may include the incorporation of meditation, aromatherapy, and other holistic approaches into self-care routines.
