Hi Rafi, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?

Rafi Moussa Soghmonian: A Journey Through Heritage and Design

Rafi Moussa Soghmonian, an Armenian by birth, carries the weight of his heritage, a legacy marked by the tragic events of 1915 when his ancestors endured the devastating massacres by the Ottoman Turks. Born in 1967 in the coastal city of Latakia, Syria, Rafi grew up amidst the rich tapestry of the Mediterranean culture.

His passion for art and design led him to pursue studies in interior design at the Yerevan State Academy of Fine Arts in Armenia, where he honed his skills and deepened his understanding of aesthetics and functionality.

In 1995, Rafi moved to the United Arab Emirates, embarking on a new chapter in his life and career. With years of experience working with various employers, he eventually co-founded Mobile Darte Interior Design in 2000, establishing himself as a prominent figure in the UAE’s design industry.

Rafi’s life is also filled with the joys of family. He is married to Araks Dilanyan, and together they have two children: a son, Movses Soghmonian, and a daughter, Kristin Soghmonian.

Through his work and his family, Rafi continues to bridge his rich Armenian heritage with his vibrant life in the UAE, creating spaces that reflect both his past and his vision for the future.
After 28 years in the UAE, Rafi moved to California and started a new company in 2017 in Glendale. Now, they have an office on Ocean View Blvd and aim to bring their extensive experience in interior design to Los Angeles.
