Inspiring Conversations with Paul of Love On Fire Entertainment

Today we’d like to introduce you to Paul.

Hi Paul, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Paul D. Hannah is an award-winning writer, producer, and director who has gone from moments of homelessness as a teenager to an eight-figure corporate executive, and ultimately, to a prolific creative force in the entertainment industry. A man of faith, he is President of Love on Fire Entertainment, an independent production company dedicated to creating films and TV projects with captivating, purpose-driven stories. He also founded Ignite Acting Studio to help artists sharpen their skills.

Paul’s journey is a testament to his perseverance and commitment to excellence. He has written, produced, and directed over fifty feature and short films, live comedy specials, and theater shows, with over a dozen original theatrical productions premiering across the nation. His work has made a splash on platforms like Netflix, where at one point he had eight movies simultaneously airing. His most notable works include The Marriage Chronicles, The Last Letter, and The Sin Seer. He’s also produced for major studios, including Sony, Lionsgate, BET, and eOne Entertainment.

Beyond his impressive filmography, Paul is a passionate and prolific writer with a robust skill set. He has written and ghostwritten over 60 projects, including screenplays, teleplays, and musicals. He is also a gifted songwriter who has written for a range of successful gospel, pop, and R&B artists, and he routinely composes original music for his films.

Paul’s creative work is deeply rooted in his personal experiences and a desire to create positive change. With degrees in psychology, he spent years studying human behavior and counseling couples and at-risk youth, applying this knowledge to craft incredibly moving stories. A lifelong advocate for youth development in the arts, he is passionate about empowering children to find their God-given creative gifts.

Paul believes there are no small movies, only stories that are shaped by the passion and effort poured into them. His passion project, The Love Script, is a film designed to help couples have healthy relationships and is now airing on Apple TV and Amazon Prime Video.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Paul’s life is a vivid portrait of resilience, faith, and divine purpose forged through adversity. Born and raised in the inner city of Los Angeles, he grew up under the steady guidance of a devoted single mother who instilled in him discipline, vision, and a deep reverence for God. From an early age, his creative spark was undeniable, he excelled in speech and debate, poured himself into the arts, and carried an academic load far beyond his years.

Life took an unexpected turn when Paul found himself living on a farm in Lancaster, California, with Deacon Forte — a mentor from church who owned a small construction company. Those years were formative: he’d rise before dawn to feed the animals, work construction by day, and study late into the night. By sixteen, he had graduated high school, grounded in both work ethic and faith.

Soon after, Paul made a bold move to Seattle, chasing opportunity and purpose but facing new trials — including seasons of homelessness. Yet even in those moments, his conviction never wavered. Faith became his compass, guiding him through uncertainty toward what would become his divine calling.
Years later, when the 2008 financial crash cost him a lucrative executive position, Paul once again chose faith over fear. With a family to support and no safety net, he took his last savings and financed his first feature film, Consinsual. That leap of faith not only changed his life but set the course for a flourishing career in filmmaking that continues to this day.
Paul’s journey is proof that purpose doesn’t just survive hardship — it’s refined by it.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Love On Fire Entertainment?
For filmmaker, writer, and director Paul D. Hannah, storytelling isn’t just a career — it’s a calling. Through his company Love on Fire Entertainment, Paul has built more than a production house; he’s built a movement rooted in faith, creativity, and purpose.
“Every great story deserves to be told with both passion and precision,” Paul says. “But more than that, stories should heal — they should remind us of what’s good, what’s possible, and what love can be when it’s healthy.”
That belief is the heartbeat of Love on Fire Entertainment. Known for delivering studio-quality production at attainable scales, Paul and his team have worked across every corner of the industry — from intimate indie projects to multimillion-dollar studio films.
But what makes Love on Fire Entertainment truly different is its heart. Paul describes it as a “home for creators,” offering services in Producing, Directing, Writing, Coaching, and Speaking — each crafted to help artists grow not just professionally, but personally.
With an executive background that marries business acumen and creative instinct, Paul has overseen projects across film, television, comedy, theater, and documentary. “People joke that I can squeeze the copper out of a penny,” he laughs. “But really, I just believe in getting the most out of what you have — in business, in art, and in life.”
As a director, Paul’s focus is emotional honesty — drawing performances that live and breathe. “I’m an actor’s director,” he says. “I love helping performers find their truth. Because when an actor connects to the heart of a story, the audience connects too.”
As a writer, Paul’s roots run deep. He began writing at twelve and never stopped — crafting screenplays for studios, indies, and as a trusted ghostwriter. “Storytelling is my first language,” he says. “It’s how I process faith, pain, and purpose.”
Today, Paul’s mission has evolved beyond the screen. His coaching and speaking work focus on transformation — helping others turn pain into purpose and potential into power. “What I teach isn’t just about performance,” he explains. “It’s about becoming whole. Because great art starts with a healthy heart.”
That conviction comes to life in his latest venture — the Love on Fire Entertainment YouTube channel, dedicated to exploring love in its truest, healthiest forms. Through scripted shorts, candid conversations, and real-life stories, the platform celebrates everything from first love to lasting marriage, from heartbreak to healing.
“Our world is hungry for examples of real love — not the perfect kind, but the kind that grows, forgives, and endures,” Paul shares. “I want to help people remember that love and family aren’t just emotions. They’re sacred work.”
At the end of the day, Paul D. Hannah’s legacy is not just in the films he’s made, but in the lives he’s touched. Through his art, his coaching, and his unwavering belief in God’s purpose, he continues to light a path for others — one story, one family, one flame at a time.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
“My entire life and work flow from my relationship with God,” Paul shares. “Every creative spark, every business decision, every act of leadership, it all begins and ends with Him. If I’m not grounded in the Word, anchored in prayer, and filled with His Spirit, then the work itself loses meaning.”
Faith remains the cornerstone of Paul’s life, but his growth as a leader and entrepreneur has also been shaped by wisdom from some of the world’s most insightful thinkers. “I’ve always believed that faith and intellect go hand in hand,” he explains. “Books like The Wisdom of Crowds, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, Good to Great, Rich Dad Poor Dad, The Psychology of Money, Thinking, Fast and Slow, and Emotional Intelligence have been incredible measuring devices — helping me assess how I lead, how I build, and how I serve.”
For Paul, creativity, business, and faith are all interconnected, each informing the other. “As an artist, entrepreneur, and family man, I want everything I do to reflect balance and purpose,” he says. “At the end of the day, my goal is simple: to build a legacy of inspiration and integrity that points people back to God.”
