Today we’d like to introduce you to Mishka Johnson.
Hi Mishka, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Shortly after moving to California, I hired a cleaning service — and quickly regretted it. The harsh, toxic chemicals left me feeling sick, and I was shocked to discover they were reusing the same unsanitized towels in both the kitchen and bathroom. That experience was my wake-up call: there had to be a safer, healthier way to clean.
That’s why I created Whole Space Eco Cleaning Service, built on a foundation of safety, integrity, and green care.
Our Commitment to a Healthier Home
We use only non-toxic, eco-friendly products and follow a proprietary system I developed called the SMART program, which combines proven cleaning protocols with a strict color-coded approach to ensure every area—from kitchen counters to bathroom floors—is cleaned safely, thoroughly, and without cross-contamination.
We uphold the highest standards of trust: every team member is background-checked, professionally trained, and English-speaking, ensuring consistent, reliable, and exceptional results every visit.
At Whole Space, we don’t just clean homes — we provide deep, safe, and sustainable care that protects your family and your space, giving clients peace of mind and a healthier environment to live in.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road to establishing Whole Space hasn’t always been smooth. As a new company, we immediately faced the challenge of a competitive market; most potential clients already have a cleaning service they trust, meaning gaining recognition has required persistence and a clear demonstration of superior value.
The Crucial Education Hurdle
Our biggest hurdle, however, has been educating clients about the importance of safe, non-toxic cleaning. Helping clients understand the connection between their environment and their wellness has been a key part of our mission.
We’ve been impressed with Whole Space Eco Cleaning Service, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Our roots inspire everything we do. As a Mongolian, I grew up seeing the inherent tidiness and resourcefulness of Mongolian women. Many stay-at-home moms in California seek financial independence while contributing part-time to their families. This inspired me to create meaningful, flexible jobs for immigrant and stay-at-home mothers, giving them opportunities to earn their own income while developing skills that empower them personally and professionally.
The Whole Space Advantage
At Whole Space, our proprietary SMART program and eco-friendly approach define us in the marketplace. The SMART system stands for:
• Safety – Non-toxic, eco-friendly cleaning
• Method – Color-coded system prevents cross-contamination
• Assistance – English-speaking, professionally trained staff
• Reliability – Trusted, punctual, consistent service
• Tidiness – Light organizing included
The SMART program ensures a safe, thorough clean and incorporates light organizing into every visit—so your child’s clothes are never left on the floor, and your home feels both clean and functional.
We are committed to sustainability, safety, and family wellness, and I’m particularly proud of the SMART system, which we’ve applied to trademark.
Recently, we expanded our offerings with life-support services, including:
• Dog walking and pet sitting
• Laundry assistance
• Meal preparation
• Personal shopping
• Professional home and office organization
At Whole Space, we don’t just clean — we provide comprehensive care for your home and family, while empowering women in our community and creating healthier, happier households.
What makes you happy?
Seeing the positive and tangible impact we create — whether it’s a family feeling calmer in a clutter-free home, a team member gaining confidence and financial independence, or helping people feel lighter, more in control, and empowered through organizing, eco-friendly cleaning, and supportive services.
