Hi Mikel, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
1on1 Entertainment Group: Cultivating Faith, Talent, and Impact

For over 15 years, 1on1 Entertainment Group (1on1 EG)** has stood at the crossroads of faith, music, and media. Founded by Mikel Cole, alongside partners Luis Cupajita and Carlos Vaca, 1on1 EG was created to provide a space where faith-based artists could cultivate their God-given talents and share messages of hope with the world.

“We wanted a platform where artists could express their faith while achieving excellence in their craft,” says Mikel Cole, Founder of 1on1 EG. “Music has the power to inspire, heal, and unite — and that’s what drives everything we do.”

Over the years, 1on1 EG has worked with both faith-based and mainstream artists, offering songwriting, music production, interviews, video creation, and business consultation. Our roster includes collaborations with Krayzie Bone and Bizzy Bone of the multi-platinum rap group Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Bay Area legend Rappin’ 4 Tay, and international artists such as Eko Fresh from Germany, LiquidSilva, currently performing in stadiums across Indonesia, and Cinta Laura, a renowned actress, model, and musician from Indonesia.

1on1 EG has also conducted exclusive interviews with major figures in entertainment, including Snoop Dogg, Grammy-winning producer Hit-Boy (whose credits include Jay-Z and Nas), comedian Aries Spears, and music executive Ethiopia Habtemariam. These projects reflect 1on1 EG’s dedication to quality production, cultural connection, and creative storytelling.

“Our focus has always been on quality production and a one-on-one approach,” says Cole. “It’s been a blessing building relationships, watching projects come alive, and helping artists reach new heights in their careers.”

Mikel and his wife **Regina Cole** also form the Gospel/Pop duo **Holy Ground**, currently working on an album slated for release in 2026. “What makes Holy Ground unique,” Regina shares, “is that there aren’t many husband-and-wife duos in gospel today. We bring a dual perspective — male and female — allowing us to speak to hearts from two angles. Our goal is to uplift all generations, encouraging people to take a chance on God or grow deeper in their faith.”

The couple sees themselves as part of a new wave of gospel artists, describing their mission as akin to the *Tamela and David Mann* of gospel — using their marriage, music, and ministry to inspire others and demonstrate what faith and partnership look like when God is at the center.

Based in Santa Ana, Orange County, 1on1 EG is currently transforming its headquarters into a **state-of-the-art creative facility** for recording, podcasts, rehearsals, and video production — a family-friendly space designed to nurture creativity and connection.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Building an entertainment company is absolutely not for the faint of heart — it’s a calling, not just a hobby or a dream without action. For me and my partners, starting 1on1 Entertainment Group over 15 years ago was fueled by a clear sense of purpose: to create an environment where artists can refine their talents and use their music to bring hope and inspiration to others

The early days were challenging. People didn’t immediately take us seriously, and the entertainment world can be quick to judge — by what you’ve done, who you’re with, and what you can offer that others can’t. Rejection was common, and building trust and credibility required relentless effort. We had to learn to invest in ourselves, perfect our craft, and consistently follow up while nurturing genuine relationships.

What kept us going was belief — in the vision, in the mission, and in one another. As they say, how can someone else believe in what you do if you don’t first believe in yourself? Our faith has been the anchor, reminding us that this work is bigger than just business — it’s ministry, influence, and impact.

Over time, perseverance, dedication, and consistent quality helped 1on1 EG stand out. Today, we are proud to have worked with international artists, conducted interviews with industry leaders, and built a legacy that blends professional excellence with faith-driven purpose. For us, the journey is a reminder that success is never instant — it is earned through passion, persistence, and a belief that your work has meaning beyond yourself.

We’ve been impressed with 1on1 Entertainment Group, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

What sets us apart is our personalized, one-on-one approach. Every artist who comes to us receives guidance, mentorship, and resources tailored specifically to their goals. Beyond technical expertise, we prioritize creating a safe space where artists can explore their creativity, share their message, and grow both personally and professionally.

We are particularly proud of our brand identity, which blends creativity, professionalism, and ministry. One of the most rewarding aspects of our work is the mentorship and ministry impact we’ve seen firsthand. We have testimonies from people who came from disadvantaged backgrounds, inspired and mentored by us, who are now attending college. Others who were once homeless or had criminal backgrounds have changed the course of their lives and grown deeper in their faith.

We are currently partnering with a licensed therapist who plans to use our facility to support troubled teens, providing guidance, creative skill-building, and business etiquette training — equipping the next generation with the personal and professional tools they need to succeed.

What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to us is impact — both in the lives of the artists we work with and the people who hear their message. It’s not just about producing music or building a business; it’s about creating opportunities for growth, inspiration, and transformation.
We want the work we do at 1on1 Entertainment Group to make a difference, whether that means helping an artist reach their creative potential, guiding someone through mentorship, or encouraging someone to grow deeper in their faith.
