Today we’d like to introduce you to Kisha “Lady K” Collier
Hi Kisha “Lady K”, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am a visionary Philanthropreneur, dedicated to achieving social change that is both profitable and sustainable where communities thrive. I embarked on my journey at the age of 16, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to entrepreneurship and my community.
After graduating with my AA from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, I furthered my education by earning a BA in Business Administration & Leadership from Oral Roberts University.
I have had the privilege of working for some of the world’s largest global beauty giants, where I gained invaluable insights into their systems and processes. These experiences have significantly contributed to my professional growth and have been instrumental in shaping my career.
My quest for knowledge and leadership also led me to Harvard Extension School, where I studied Nonprofit Management & Leadership Strategies for Organizational Success. As a nonprofit leader, I leverage my extensive experience and education to drive positive change and empower founders and visionaries.
My remarkable journey culminated in the founding of Funded w/Lady K, where I channel my passion and expertise to bridge gaps in access to capital, resources, wealth, creating more inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystems.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As the leader of a community-based organization and a for-profit small business owner, I can tell you that the journey has not always been smooth. One significant challenge we’ve faced is the lack of funding for our Little CEOs. This initiative is crucial for nurturing young entrepreneurs, but securing financial support has been an uphill battle.
Additionally, managing resources and balancing multiple roles has been demanding. We’ve had to navigate bureaucratic red tape and advocate tirelessly to get the necessary backing for our programs. Despite these struggles, our commitment to empowering the community keeps us pushing forward.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Founded in 2022, Funded w/Lady K (FWLK) services will increase the philanthropic impact of BIPOC & Women-Owned nonprofits and small businesses by leveraging resources to achieve social change that is both scalable and sustainable.
Providing technical assistance to BIPOC and women-led small businesses and non-profit organizations and advocate for policy that support their impact.
Services delivered via virtual and in-person workshops, one-on-one coaching, e-learning modules, and site visits. They will be offered individually or in a customizable package. Upon completion of our
“Funder Ready Advisory” (FRA) program visionaries will spend less time
running their high impact nonprofit organization and more time out
there and solving some of the world’s most pressing problems. FRA is not a program; it’s a digital platform!

As a Philanthropreneur, it’s important to me that my work benefits the broader community. At Funded w/Lady K, our advocacy and civic engagement efforts are not just activities we undertake—they are core to our mission and values. Our successes in these areas reflect our deep commitment to driving positive change, empowering individuals, and fostering a sense of community. We strive to create lasting improvements that go beyond immediate needs, aiming to build a foundation for sustainable growth and development in every initiative we pursue.
At Funded w/Lady K, our work is guided by three pillars of impact: Funding, Philanthropy, and Wealth-Building. These pillars are reflected above and in our business consulting services, advocacy efforts, and our investment in the future through the Little CEOs program. These pillars guide our work and ensure we make a lasting, positive impact on the community.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
People/Humanity matter most. Their well-being, growth, and success are at the heart of everything I do. I believe that investing in individuals creates a ripple effect of positive change, benefiting not only them but also their families and communities. Seeing people empowered and achieving their potential is incredibly rewarding. It drives my commitment to advocacy, education, and entrepreneurship. By focusing on people, we build a stronger, more resilient society where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
