Inspiring Conversations with Julie Lee Phok of Golden Phase Acupuncture

Today we’d like to introduce you to Julie Lee Phok.

Hi Julie Lee, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Honestly, it all started pretty quietly, because that’s how I move through life. I’ve always been an observer: respectful, curious, and soft-hearted. I’m the one who notices what’s unspoken. I’m the daughter of a monk, after all. I grew up kind, always caring deeply about people’s comfort and well-being. That tenderness is still what guides me most.

Chinese Medicine found me when I needed it most. Not in a dramatic way, but in the way life keeps you wide awake at night, constantly anxious and overthinking. I’ll always be grateful to my acupuncturist for helping me find deep rest again.

A few years later, while on break from a corporate adtech career, wondering what work could feel like if it actually meant something, I decided to step into Chinese Medical school.

I fell in love with how holistic it is, how it looks at your whole picture, not just your symptoms. It’s incredibly systematic, with so many different diagnostic and treatment approaches we can tailor uniquely to you. That language of systems just spoke to me.

So here I am now, a Licensed Acupuncturist, running my own practice, Golden Phase Acupuncture, doing what I love most: helping people heal, and feel better in their body and mind. To me, health isn’t just the absence of disease; it’s the presence of vitality, purpose, and balance. Acupuncture is the best catalyst for unlocking your body’s innate ability to heal itself.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Honestly, the hardest part is the marketing. For someone naturally quiet, building a practice means stepping into visibility. It’s still a work in progress but with enough perseverance, I trust I can keep reaching the people who need care.

What comes easily, and keeps me inspired, is practicing the Art of Chinese Medicine. Using the sensitivity in my hands, the way my touch reads what’s going on inside your body, and seeing people leave lighter and more at ease.
Chinese Medicine is so profound, often overlooked, and even a little mysterious. I feel fortunate to share it every day. It’s truly my healership.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My practice is named Golden Phase Acupuncture. If she were a person, she’d be calming, soothing, a little funny, and genuinely invested in how you’re doing.

I specialize in women’s health, hormones, cycles, perimenopause, fertility, and also in pain management, stress, anxiety, tremors, and aging-related concerns. I’m passionate about how acupuncture can rewire your nervous system and lift heaviness off your chest, while enhancing your longevity.

Over time, my treatments can go deeper, syncing your pulses and harmonizing your body’s rhythms. A bit out there, but pretty remarkable. Most people need foundational work first. By session three or four (or six, if we’re honest), we get to truly transform your life.

Golden Phase means being balanced in all ways — with the five phases of Chinese Medicine, in the moment, in your body, your mind, your spirit. It’s about knowing how easy it is to get knocked out of balance in our modern world and how essential it is to keep returning to acupuncture, therapy, friendships, qi gong, meditation, the small joys that call us back to our golden selves.

I also want everyone to know you can come in with an issue or with pain, but you could just as easily come in when nothing specific is truly wrong. Maybe it’s a little road rage, a bad day, a lost appetite, or a bit of insomnia. Maybe it’s many years of it. You can come in for all of it. This work is a gentle reset, a great boost and a real solution.

At the end of the day, my practice is rooted in real, biomedical changes because that’s what truly helps you heal, and live better.

✨ If you’re curious about acupuncture — or ready to feel more balanced, less stressed, more like yourself — I’d be honored to support you.

How do you think about luck?
I definitely believe in luck, the kind that shows up unexpectedly, like a gift right when you need it most. Sometimes it’s a line in a book that speaks directly to you, or a moment of clarity that shifts everything. Luck isn’t something we can chase; it just finds you when you keep moving forward with an open heart.

Luck has played a pleasing role in my Golden Phase journey. I’m grateful every time someone chooses to walk through my door and trust me with their care.
