Inspiring Conversations with Juaneice Munoz of La Casa Azul Design

Today we’d like to introduce you to Juaneice Munoz.

Hi Juaneice, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My Design journey started in 2007 when the mortgage industry crashed. My husband and I lost our home , and were forced to move with our 3 young children and regroup. I decided to go to school and get a formal education in interior architecture and design. La Casa Azul Design was born in 2011 with a client centric focus that does not chase the latest trend but looks at each home as a special opportunity for the owner to have a retreat like no one else. Because we lost our own home , the awareness of how important home is was hardwired. Serenity , refuge , simplicity were central to our approach to design. Long hard road it was to build a business in a crowed market among some of the world’s best.
In 2025 we were named in the top 10 of luxury design firms in Orange County. Today we focus on giving back and 10% of our proceeds go to charitable organizations in the community, like Salvation Army, that played a pivotal roll in our recovery from hard times. Its central to who we are today.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has been long and hard. Orange County is one of the most saturated markets. We do not focus on this. We just put our heads down and provide the best service and beautiful design we can.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about La Casa Azul Design?
We are a firm in Laguna Beach California , our focus is simple luxury. Our design is not trendy but current and timeless. What makes us different is approach to the design itself. We reject trends. If we see something being repeated too often we deliberately go another direction. We curate art , furniture and architectural elements that complement the architecture and make the most of every angle. Bespoke at every turn

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
