Today we’d like to introduce you to Hao Wen (Claudia) Chung.
Hi Claudia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’m a Brooklyn-based visual designer and brand thinker who moves comfortably between big-picture strategy and detail-driven execution. My work spans brand systems, campaigns, and digital assets. I’m known for creating visuals that don’t just look polished, but communicate clearly and purposefully. . I’ve worked with everyone from major media companies to small businesses, which has made me adaptable, fast-moving, and thoughtful about meeting each brand where it is. I’m driven by building work that feels meaningful, functional, and well-considered, and I love turning complex ideas into visual stories that are both smart and engaging.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Like many creative careers, mine has included navigating freelance transitions, evolving responsibilities, and growing beyond the title I was originally hired for. I often found myself taking on work far outside traditional design, which was both exciting and stretching. Along the way, I learned how to advocate for my role, manage expectations, and speak up clearly about scope, timelines, and impact.
I also realized that strong design isn’t just about craft — it’s about communication, alignment, and understanding the business behind the work. Earlier on, I focused so much on delivering great visuals that I didn’t always articulate their strategic value. Learning to frame my work around outcomes, not just aesthetics, was a major turning point.
Those experiences made me more resilient, proactive, and intentional as a creative today.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Possibility of Becoming is my graphic design studio specializing in visual design, digital design, and branding creative service. I have had the privilege of working with clients across a wide range of industries, including entertainment, media, sports, education, non-profit, and technology.
Over the past two years, I worked with a major media company on high-profile entertainment and sports digital content. I created over 1,000 assets per month for marquee events such as the Super Bowl, College Football, NFL, and FIFA. This experience challenged me to work at a rapid pace while maintaining high-quality, creative output, and it pushed my creative abilities in areas I hadn’t explored before. The experience broadened my design perspective and inspired new approaches to storytelling through visual content.
In addition, I worked with Run Your Own Run (RYOR) on their rebranding initiative over the past year. Leading the creation of a new brand identity reignited my passion for branding, as it allowed me to craft a brand from the ground up — from ideation and strategy to visual design. The RYOR brand tells a deeply personal story of a runner building a community, and being part of shaping that narrative has been one of the most fulfilling creative experiences of my career.
My work bridges strategic thinking and creative execution. I thrive in fast-paced environments and take on projects that challenge me to integrate design, storytelling, and branding into meaningful visual experiences — a combination that truly sets me apart.
How do you think about luck?
Luck has definitely been a factor in my career, like meeting certain clients or landing projects that opened new doors. But I see luck as something you create through preparation and hard work. 🙂
