Inspiring Conversations with Halie Molino of Pacific Candle Company

Today we’d like to introduce you to Halie Molino.

Hi Halie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Pacific Candle Company was born in Huntington Beach, California, out of a love for creating spaces that feel elevated, relaxed, and inspired by coastal living. What started as a simple hobby (pouring candles in my kitchen to create clean, non-toxic scents for my own home) quickly grew into something more. I realized how powerful fragrance can be in transforming a space and evoking emotion, and I wanted to share that feeling with others.

From there, I began experimenting with premium soy wax, toxin-free ingredients, and timeless scent combinations that reflected the laid-back luxury of Southern California. What started with a few candle scents has now grown into a full line of candles, room sprays, reed diffusers, and car diffusers that are all hand-poured with care and designed to bring sustainable, elevated elegance to any space.

Each collection I create is inspired by the seasons and the beauty of the California coast, with the goal of helping people slow down, feel grounded, and truly enjoy their surroundings.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road, but every challenge has shaped Pacific Candle Company into what it is today. When I first started, I was pouring candles in small batches at home, learning through trial and error how to perfect each scent and achieve a clean, even burn. There was a lot of testing, re-pouring, and patience involved before I ever felt confident selling a single candle.

As the business grew, I had to learn everything from sourcing sustainable materials and managing production to building a brand and connecting with customers. Balancing creativity with the logistics of running a small business can be a challenge, especially when you care so deeply about quality and consistency.

There have been moments of doubt, long nights, and learning curves, but those experiences have made the journey even more meaningful. Seeing customers connect with the brand, light a candle in their home, and make it part of their daily rituals makes it all worth it.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Pacific Candle Company?
Pacific Candle Company is a hand-poured luxury candle brand based in Huntington Beach, California. We specialize in creating non-toxic, 100% soy candles and home fragrances inspired by the beauty of Southern California living. Every piece is designed to feel elevated yet approachable by combining clean, sophisticated scents with timeless design to complement any space.

What sets us apart is our dedication to quality and sustainability. Each candle is crafted with premium, toxin-free ingredients, eco-friendly materials, and an intentional focus on creating fragrances that evoke a sense of calm and connection. Our scents are meant to be an extension of your home with the finishing touch that transforms your environment and reflects your personal style.

In addition to our core collections, I’ve recently begun hosting candle making workshops, which have become one of my favorite parts of the business. They allow me to share my craft in a hands-on, creative way and connect with people who are curious about the art of candle making. Watching others discover the joy and relaxation that comes from creating something beautiful with their own hands has been so rewarding.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the care and intention behind everything we do. From the clean ingredients we use to the thoughtful packaging and the sensory experience our products create. At its heart, Pacific Candle Company is about more than just candles; it’s about creating moments of peace, presence, and elevated simplicity in everyday life.

How do you think about happiness?
What makes me happiest is creating things that bring comfort and joy to others. Whether it’s pouring a new candle scent, setting up for a workshop, or seeing someone light one of my candles in their home. Those moments remind me why I started Pacific Candle Company in the first place.

I find so much happiness in the little details, from the calm of pouring wax, the balance of blending fragrances, and the quiet beauty of creating something with my hands. And now, through teaching candle making workshops, I get to share that joy and creativity with others, which has been incredibly fulfilling.

At the end of the day, what makes me happiest is knowing that something I’ve created can help someone slow down, breathe deeply, and feel more at peace in their space.
