Hi Daizy, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
How Sparkyl Sparked
Like many creative journeys, mine started with a little heartbreak and a whole lot of glitter.
After the loss of my beloved pup, I found myself feeling untethered—grieving, yes, but also searching for a new spark. I’d been freelancing since the world turned upside down in 2020 (thanks, COVID), constantly trying to navigate my next big move without losing touch with the one thing that’s always been my compass: creativity. Then—poof—a little bit of magic.
A close friend of mine, who founded The Gifterie, invited me to help out at one of their events. I said yes, not totally sure what I was stepping into, but craving some inspiration and connection. That event? It changed everything.
She brought some glitter, a photo booth guy, and tasked me with the wild idea to personalize on the spot. Before I knew it, people were lining up, laughing, pointing, taking photos—and just like that, Sparkyl was born.
What started as a tiny shimmer of an idea has grown into something bright, bold, and beautifully me. Sparkyl Glitter Pictures is more than a business—it’s my sparkle comeback story, proof that healing and creativity can go hand-in-hand, and that sometimes, your next chapter starts with a little shimmer and a lot of heart.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The journey with Sparkyl has been more of a glitter-covered rollercoaster than a straight path—and honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
It hasn’t really been about struggle, but more about learning, stretching, and leveling up. Every event, every order, every “can you make this?” moment has pushed me to grow and fine-tune my craft.
What started as a burst of inspiration has turned into a full-blown love affair with the art of personalization. I’ve become obsessed (in the best way) with making every piece feel special—something people are excited to hang in their homes.
There’s something magical about knowing my glittery creations become part of someone’s everyday space. That’s what fuels me.
So no, it hasn’t always been smooth—but it’s been exciting, surprising, and sparkly in all the right ways.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
I actually don’t have a formal mentor—but does listening to Marie Forleo everyday like she’s right next to me in my car count? Ha ha but, what I do have is a big open heart for connection and a “say yes and figure it out later” kind of mindset. “Everything is Figureoutable!”
Being a freelancer taught me early on that opportunity doesn’t always knock—sometimes you have to invite it in, offer it a coffee, and pitch your sparkle while you’re at it.
For me, networking has looked more like showing up—to events, to collaborations, to DMs—and being genuinely curious about other people’s stories. I’ve found that when you’re open, positive, and ready to pitch in, the right people find their way into your orbit. Staying approachable and authentic has led me to some pretty magical connections. People are often more willing to share and support than you think. Just keep showing up with your sparkle and your can-do attitude—it’ll shine through
