Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney And Eric Mccarson/benz
Hi Courtney and Eric, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
The McCarson/Benz Real Estate Team joined force in 2022 but have been working toward this partnership for years before. After marrying in 2021 and adding their daughter, Nova, to the family they knew it was time to form the team and give the same Personalized Service, Exceptional Results they have provided individually, now as a team, and believe it will be an even superior service to all their clients. With a combined real experience of over 30 years, they believe the service they can provide is second to none.
Courtney has lived in the Burbank area since 2012 and has been selling real estate in the Los Angeles area since 2015. She was born and raised in Southeast Texas and holds a BA in Broadcast Journalism from the University of North Texas. She started her real estate career working with one of Burbank’s top teams before going out as a solo agent in 2020. Courtney has an incredible love for her family and that’s how she makes her clients feel, like family. Courtney has prided herself in growing her business through referrals from friends and past clients by always going above and beyond and making each client valued
and well cared for.
Eric joined Dilbeck Real Estate over 22 years ago. After being a Branch Manager in the Burbank office for 7 years he dedicated himself to doing what he always loved most and that is helping individuals with their real estate needs. He was the 2013 President of the Burbank Association of Realtors and a Director with the California Association of Realtors. He was awarded the 2012 Realtor of the year by the Burbank Association. In 2021 Eric received the prestigious Raymond T Dilbeck Award. These distinctions were voted on by fellow collegues.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Most husband and wife teams one partner brings the other into the business. This was not the case for us. We both had an established business and way of doing things. We had to find the balance of working together and find who does what best and allowing that other person to do that. We had to let go of control of every aspect of the business and let the other partner take on responsibilities that we were so used to doing ourselves. We live, together, we work together, we have a family together. Every aspect of out lives is together. It’s all about finding balances and individuality when our world in so intertwined. We have to also have that cut off time of like, this is our family time, not our work time. It’s finding those boundaries, when it’s easy to get caught up in work.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We are a husband and wife Real Estate Team. We live in Burbank and work Burbank and the surrounding areas. We think Burbank is very special and we think if you are buying or selling here, you should work with someone local who understands the nuances of the local community. We work with buyers and sellers of all stagers. Rather it’s a first time buyer or seasoned investor. If you are selling your home, it’s all about what’s right for you, your timeline and your life. What are the tax consequences? Has someone gone over every aspect of what this sale will look like. We pride ourselves in knowing every aspect of this business inside and out, so we leave no stone unturned and you make the right decision for you. It’s not about commissions or sales for us. It’s about building relationships that last a lifetime. 90% of our business comes from referrals and repeat clients. You are never passed off to an assistant or another team member. When you work with us you deal with Courtney and Eric directly. We like hand holding and tailoring the process for you. Real Estate is not one size fits all. Don’t need to buy, sell or rent and just need a referral to a great tradesperson? We are here to be a resource for you.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
If you are looking to get into the real estate business, make sure you find an amazing mentor or team to start. This is an easy business to get your license in, but a very hard one to succeed in. It’s not easy and glamorous like you see on TV. It’s hard and you will work your tail off before you have any kind of established business.
