Inspiring Conversations with Barbara Kris of Barbara Kris Nutrition & Weight Loss

Today we’d like to introduce you to Barbara Kris.

Hi Barbara, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Absolutely. I spent years chasing success; first in a high-level aerospace career, then later as a competitive bodybuilder. I even became an IFBB Pro at 42 and launched my own activewear line.

But through all that, I realized I was living in extremes; burning out at work, then pushing my body in a way that wasn’t sustainable as a single mom and entrepreneur. And ultimately, what I really wanted was to feel good again in my skin, without the pressure or punishment.

That’s what led me to women’s nutrition coaching.

I work specifically with women 40 and over because I am that woman, and I remember what it felt like to be stuck, second-guessing everything, and wondering if it was just too late to change.

I originally coached in person, but COVID pushed me to pivot online, which turned out to be a gift. Now I get to support women around the world who are ready for a sustainable, clear, and empowering way to take care of themselves again.

And if someone reading this is feeling that tug, like you’ve drifted from your best self and want a place to start, my 7-Day Reset (available on my website and socials) was built exactly for that. It gives you clarity and momentum, without the overwhelm.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely not smooth, but absolutely worth it.

After 20 years in the corporate world, becoming an entrepreneur didn’t come naturally to me.

I knew I didn’t want to go back, but running a business, learning tech, marketing, creating content, it was like learning a whole new language. Add to that the challenge of stepping into a new identity as a coach, and yes, I struggled with confidence, especially in those early years.

There were plenty of times I questioned whether I was really cut out for this. I’d look back at my old life, the certainty, the predictability, and wonder if I made a mistake.

But what’s carried me through has been my faith, and having the right people in my corner.

We all need a tribe that gets it; people who see you, who challenge you to level up, and who remind you who you are when you forget.

Without that, it’s easy to fall back into playing small or doubting what you’re here to do.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Barbara Kris Nutrition & Weight Loss ?
I work with women, mostly 40 and over – who are driven, high-functioning, and deeply capable… but feel like they’ve lost their way when it comes to their bodies, food, and energy.

I help them cut through the confusion, rebuild trust with themselves, and create a way of eating and living that feels clear, doable, and sustainable, without the all-or-nothing pressure most programs push.

My method is called the BK Method, and it’s built on three core pillars:

1. A clear method for eating that works in real life; without calorie counting

2. A mindset shift around food, aging, and self-worth.

3. Personalized accountability and results-driven support that actually helps women follow through.

What sets me apart?

I’ve lived both sides. I know what it’s like to burn out in a corporate career and also what it’s like to chase fitness goals to the extreme.

My work is about helping women find their middle; that solid, energized, grounded place where they feel strong and free.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud that women say they finally feel seen and safe when they work with me. That means more than any transformation photo.

If someone’s not ready for full coaching but wants to get started, I offer a 7-Day Reset — it’s the best way to gain clarity, momentum, and that “okay, I can do this” feeling again.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Honestly? None.

I wouldn’t call anything in my journey luck; good or bad.

The truth is, every step I’ve taken has come down to choices, growth, and faith.

Leaving a stable career, rebuilding my identity, starting over in business, none of that was lucky.

It was uncomfortable, humbling, and full of lessons. But I wouldn’t trade it, because it built something stronger in me: a deep belief that even when things feel uncertain, I can figure it out.

I’m not where I am because of luck.

I’m here because I kept going, and surrounded myself with people who called me to higher places when I wanted to shrink back.
