Inspiring Conversations with Jasmine Anderson of Boss Babes Love Brunch

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Anderson.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started as an entrepreneur in college with an e-commerce business, from there I began engaging in and curating events. I found myself seamlessly transitioning from the fashion industry to the overall entertainment realm. From there, I began learning marketing and working with various creatives and brands. Now I like to consider myself a “professional dot connector.” I went from selling thrifted clothing out of my dorm room to working with national brands to create unique experiences for people who look like me.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road as an entrepreneur whatsoever. As a Black woman entrepreneur in the entertainment and media industry, it is difficult to be seen, heard and valued. I always try to do my best to allow a space where Black women creatives feel comfortable to be themselves, simply because most industries are predominately more receptive to men in power.

As you know, we’re big fans of Boss Babes Love Brunch. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Boss Babes love Brunch is a platform and safe space for Black women entrepreneurs, professionals and creatives to unite and celebrate womanhood. We provide business resources and curate events and experiences for every #BossBabe! We host weekly Clubhouse discussions through our BBLB club. Text BOSS to 31996 to join our V.I.B. (Very Important Boss) club!

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I see the industry (and a lot of industries) shifting to being more women-oriented, owned and operated!
