Holly Lindblom’s Stories, Lessons & Insights

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Holly Lindblom. Check out our conversation below.

Holly, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
Integrity. Consistency is key to integrity. My self awareness and the fact that I’ve had plenty of times when people have asked me to lie or bend the truth. Which I have always stuck to my gun,s and have never lied for clicks in this field. I see others bend the truth. But that is not me. And I will remain faithful to my craft.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello I am Holly from Holly’s Haunts and I have been doing this for years. This you might ask is, Paranormal photography. Research. And finding the most haunted house in every city I go to. I’ve recently embarked on giving historical tours at The Alexandria hotel in downtown Los angeles. Me and hotels. There is a love there. Maybe I understand the loneliness that comes with staying in hotels. The temporary feeling. The ability to stare out of a hotel window into a new city. I love haunted Hotels.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My dear friend Eddie who left this world a few months ago. His books. His intelligence and his influence molded me for who I am today. I miss you Every single day Eddie. Sometimes I feel.like its a dream you are gone.

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
The passing of my mother’s at 23 when I was 6 months pregnant with my son.

The loss of my grandparents who raised me. The losses of one after another.
And this year was Eddie. Those have been the defining wounds that I’m still trying to heal, Slowly but surely.

I believe you never get over the loss of your parents. Grandparents. Or friends. It is something you learn to live with. And learn to live without. It becomes you. You are greif. If you still have your parents. Call them, go see them. It would mean the world to them.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
That the amount of followers defines you. That clout chasing is what its all about. I’d rather grow my following organically. Naturally and have fun with it.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
The love for my children. That no matter what I’ve been a hustler. Ive held it down. The fact that i was nothing like my mother. All my travels. Those trips back and forth from Kentucky. Me finding out who I am, with my guitar and my grandpa’s ashes in the front seat of my car coming home to Los Angeles.

My love for music. And all the times I’ve started over.. And succeeded. This is my powerful metaphor for a journey of self-discovery, reconciliation with the past, and embracing a creative future.
