Hi Qiting, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
In the lively atmosphere of Orange County, California, my colleague T.C. Nguyen and I found our love for interior design while working together at a well-respected company. Inspired by T.C.’s creativity and my knack for organization, we realized we made a great team. Drawing from T.C.’s deep design knowledge and my proficiency in project management, we started Mofa Design-a name meaning ‘Less is more’ in Chinese, which perfectly reflects our design style.
Our partnership grew as we took on projects across Orange County, from luxury homes in Newport Coast to trendy urban settings in Los Angeles. Our teamwork mixed creativity with practicality, making us known for doing great work. What really makes us stand out is our different backgrounds and the experiences we’ve had from traveling, which we bring into our designs.
Together, T.C. and I make spaces that feel personal and special, leaving a big impression. People love Mofa Design for making spaces that feel just right.
Understanding clients’ needs can sometimes feel like piecing together a puzzle. It’s all about attentive listening, managing expectations, and explaining things clearly to ensure we’re on the same page.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
When it comes to budget, creativity is key. We strive to design within budget constraints while maintaining quality. Keeping clients informed about costs allows us to collaborate effectively and make informed decisions together.
Communication with clients is paramount. We prioritize keeping them informed, addressing their questions and concerns promptly, and fostering open dialogue throughout the process.
