Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Glover.
Hi Stephanie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve always been a builder at heart — of ideas, of teams, and of dreams that feel a little bigger than me. My journey started after college, when I launched my first media production company, Meet the Fresh. I’ve spent decades helping bring other people’s visions to life in creative and tech spaces, but over time, I realized my heart was pulling me toward something more personal — something that combined my love for storytelling with my lifelong passion for animals.
That spark became Furbaby Bestie, a pet concierge and tech-forward pet care brand I founded in 2022. It started simply — with me walking dogs and caring for pets in my community — but quickly grew into a mission to redefine what quality, compassionate pet care looks like. As both a pet owner and someone who’s volunteered in animal shelters, I saw firsthand how consistency, trust, and genuine connection can transform a pet’s well-being.
Today, Furbaby Bestie is more than a service — it’s becoming a movement. I am building an app that connects pet parents with certified, trustworthy professionals while promoting standards of care rooted in compassion and expertise. My hope is that every “Bestie” experience leaves both pets and their people feeling seen, supported, and loved.
Every step of this journey has taught me that purpose doesn’t always announce itself — sometimes it shows up wagging its tail, reminding you why you started in the first place.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I’d love to say it’s been a smooth road, but the truth is — every great idea comes with growing pains. For me, the biggest challenge has been balancing vision with reality. Building Furbaby Bestie meant learning to operate as both the dreamer and the doer — juggling strategy, service, tech development, and the emotional weight that comes with caring for people’s beloved pets.
In the early days, I wore every hat: marketing, scheduling, customer care, and even midnight pet-sitting shifts. There were moments of self-doubt, financial uncertainty, and creative fatigue — but also so many reminders of why this work matters. Every tail wag, every client who calls me their “pet’s second favorite person,” has been proof that I’m on the right path.
The lesson? Progress isn’t always pretty, but it’s purposeful. The hard days have shaped Furbaby Bestie into more than a business — they’ve turned it into a mission built on heart, integrity, and the belief that care itself is a form of innovation.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At Furbaby Bestie, we believe pet care should feel personal — not transactional. We’re a Los Angeles–based pet concierge offering private dog walking, pet sitting, overnight care, and transportation for pets who deserve the very best when their humans are away. Our approach blends compassion, consistency, and professionalism so every pet feels safe, loved, and cared for like family.
What sets us apart is our focus on trust and transparency. Every member of our team is trained in Fear-Free practices, Pet CPR, and First Aid, ensuring pets receive care rooted in both heart and skill. I am also building an app that will allow pet parents to easily connect with certified caregivers, manage bookings, and access wellness updates — all from one intuitive platform.
Brand-wise, I’m proud that Furbaby Bestie represents more than just pet care — it’s a lifestyle of mindful, responsible, and joyful pet parenting. We’re redefining what it means to be your pet’s “Bestie” by combining genuine care with forward-thinking innovation. Our mission is simple: to make pet care better, safer, and more connected — one wag, purr, and happy tail at a time.
How do you think about luck?
I think luck has a funny way of showing up — sometimes disguised as obstacles, detours, or even heartbreak. For me, what’s looked like “bad luck” in the moment has often been the exact redirection I needed. Every closed door — from projects that fell through to unexpected pauses — eventually guided me toward something more aligned, like Furbaby Bestie.
I do believe in luck, but more so in prepared luck — being ready when opportunity knocks. When Furbaby Bestie won the 2024 i3 Competition, it felt like divine timing. That win didn’t just bring visibility — it came with scholarships, a prototype, and two developer interns who helped turn my idea into something real. More recently, being selected for the Goldman Sachs One Million Black Women: Black in Business program has been another moment where preparation met possibility.
So for me, luck isn’t about chance — it’s about faith, resilience, and staying open to the magic in the mess. Sometimes the “lucky break” isn’t what happens to you; it’s realizing you were built for the moment when it finally does.
