Hi sashay, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Creole kings was literally something my husband and I was given. We essentially got a food truck for another business, but the person did not want to go fourth with the truck. We were stuck with a truck and we only knew one concept. After seeking consul and wisdom, Creole Kings was birth. It was literally a business God placed in our hands to be stewards of his vision. We never had plans, aspirations, or intentions to create Creole Kings, which makes the story a little more sweeter. Creole Kings is the vehicle God is using to walk us into our purpose and destiny.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Absolutely not. Anything you are building from the ground up has its own set of challenges. However, we are building something God has given us so the resistance is alot more intense. We have faced finance issues, children health issues, one thing after another since we have started this process, but God is good. This road is not for the faint at heart, and you really have to know who your source is, have a resilience about yourself, be persistent, and be unstoppable. We are in a place no one in our families have ever been, and we are breaking generational chains. Every time we go a higher, there comes a life alternating event to distract us from the end goal. However, because my strength is not relying on me nothing will shift me out of position. The storm always passes, and I am most definitely coming out of the other side untouched.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We specialize in Love. We are a new upcoming fast casual restaurant concept bringing New Orleans cuisine with a twist. Essentially we are we are not the traditional Nola flavors or menu, but our staple bourbon dishes and beignets are customer favorites. We specialize in creating the ultimate experience for our customers, It is giving going back home to mama house vibes. Not only will you be greeted with welcoming customer service, old school music, but you will experience flavor and fresh food like never before. Everything is made fresh daily and with extra care to ensure the ultimate experience.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Take your time, have a successful business mentor, and never stop pushing forward no matter the obstacles. Connect with your local county/city business resources. There are so many avenues out there set up to help businesses you just have to utilize the resources. I wish i knew about payroll tax and sales tax, these two things have been the thorn in my flesh. There are alot of sacrifices business owners make that there employees will never understand. Also, having credit to leverage, extra capital saved, and systems in place will ease alot of daily operational loads. Entrepreneurship is a rollercoaster but you ride the wind and do not let it ride you. Keep going no matter what.
