Hidden Gems: Meet Maksim Kubarka of MyRoll Studio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maksim Kubarka

Hi Maksim, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey into this business began in childhood when my father, a sailor and bodybuilder, instilled in me a love for sports, discipline, and taking care of my body. He taught me that health is not just the absence of illness but a lifestyle that includes not only physical activity but also harmony with oneself and the world around us. Inspired by this, I’ve always sought ways to combine sports with recovery, helping ease the physical toll of exercise and avoid injuries.

At MyRoll Studio, the focus is on recovery after workouts. We help clients relax their bodies, relieve pain, improve skin condition, and restore internal balance. My methods and equipment are not only for athletes but also for people who don’t engage in physical activities but want to improve their well-being and relax.

Our key techniques include:
1. Red Light Therapy – improves circulation, accelerates tissue healing, and reduces inflammation.
2. Local Cryotherapy – aids in recovery after physical activity by reducing swelling and relieving pain.
3. Deep Tissue Massage – relaxes deep muscles, eliminating tension and chronic pain.
4. Body Roll Massage – effectively combats cellulite, improves circulation, and promotes overall relaxation.

Each of these techniques is designed to improve health and well-being, and the equipment in the studio was carefully selected based on my personal experience. Everything I offer to my clients is something I have personally tested, which makes these methods not only effective but also safe.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
In reality, there is no endpoint in business. It’s a constantly evolving product. If you’re in business, you’ll face challenges every day, big and small, that need to be tackled in the moment. And when things are going well, it’s time to expand to new horizons, which brings about new tasks to solve. To list all the problems and challenges I’ve faced would require a whole book.

In short, I’m still relatively new to the U.S. After living here for about six months, I decided to open my business. It’s a completely new territory—new laws, new people, a new language, and so much more. One of the main challenges is that the services I offer aren’t as familiar to the locals as more conventional options. I’ve had to be a pioneer of sorts, explaining everything from the ground up: how it works, what the benefits are, and why it’s important.

A significant portion of my time is spent educating both current and future clients. But no matter what challenges or setbacks come my way, I’m committed to overcoming them. The journey might not always be smooth, but it’s always worth it in the end.

I’m also supported by my blog, Built to Last, which focuses on businesses in Orange County. I visit interesting businesses, film videos about them, conduct interviews, and build collaborations. This has helped me connect with other entrepreneurs and strengthen my business network, providing valuable insights and opportunities along the way.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a small family business with a highly personalized approach, offering tailored care and assistance for each individual client. We put our heart and soul into every client we serve, and this truly is my passion. Health is the most important thing a person has—it’s not cars, clothes, or material possessions, but the body and mind. I do everything I can to help people live healthier and happier lives.

Our specialty lies in lymphatic massage using Body Roll machines, a powerful method for promoting circulation, reducing swelling, and improving skin appearance. We also offer a range of services including local cryotherapy, which helps with recovery, pain relief, and inflammation; manual deep tissue massage, which targets muscle tension and chronic pain; Red Light therapy, which promotes tissue healing and reduces inflammation; and PEMF therapy, which aids in cell regeneration and enhances overall well-being.

In the future, we plan to expand our range of services to meet even more of our clients’ health needs.

What sets us apart from the competition is our commitment to a holistic approach to health. As I mentioned before, my expertise spans across various aspects of well-being—from diet to physical training and recovery. I live by these principles and strive to be a living example of the healthy lifestyle I advocate.

I am deeply inspired by brands like Apple and figures like Steve Jobs. Apple is the epitome of how to build a brand and a great company. And my idol is Arnold Schwarzenegger. His brand has stood the test of time, helping people become healthier, smarter, and financially successful. He has created something that transcends generations, and that’s a true example of a lasting legacy.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned in the everyday reality of running businesses—whether this one or previous ones—is that it’s essential to work alone, without partners. At some point, you may find yourself in a situation where you have to face difficult decisions alone, and it can be incredibly painful if a partner turns out to be dishonest or betrays you. Having someone under your roof who might undermine your vision or interests can hurt the business and personal relationships deeply.

For this reason, it’s vital to run your business yourself, be the sole decision-maker, and own a significant portion of the business. This gives you the freedom to make decisions without outside influences and ensures that your hard work and vision remain protected. By maintaining control, you can safeguard the integrity of your business and ensure that its success is built on your own terms.
