Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristen Shea.

Hi Kristen, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have always been a passionate storyteller and communicator. Even as a child, I spent so much time reading, writing, and creating stories. I thought I would be a journalist, but in high school, I took my first marketing and business class and fell in love. I immediately began taking marketing classes at a local college while still in high school because I was so hungry to learn more and explore how brands were deploying creative marketing campaigns. I was immediately bored with high school and was ready to work with big brands and create one-of-a-kind campaigns.

After studying business and marketing, my career path involved roles in different industries like finance and healthcare. Regardless of the role or industry, what became clear is that my superpowers are my ability to connect with people and create connections for people and my ability to write and create engaging content.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I think every challenge is really just an opportunity or redirection to the right path. Something that has helped me a lot is my willingness to change my mind and start over, regardless if that is my personal or professional life.

I think the biggest challenge I faced was realizing the life I had created wasn’t fulfilling and that I needed to make some really big moves in order to live the life that I wanted. It can be easy to fall into a complacent life, especially if you are happy and still reaching your goals. Life can be really good, and you can accomplish a lot, but if you always have that nagging “what if” feeling, you have to explore it. I had always wanted to live in California and work with brands that were doing really cool and creative things with their products and their marketing campaigns. I wanted to be at the epicenter of innovation and creativity.

Once I identified my current circumstances and surroundings were limiting me, I quickly made the decision to pack up my whole life and move to California. Most of my friends were married and having children while I was preparing to completely start over, which made the change daunting, but I took the leap knowing I would have far more regrets if I stayed. It has really paid off, I am truly living a beautiful life with unlimited possibilities.
