Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeany Kim.

Hi Jeany, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey into the world of flowers began when I was young, though it wasn’t a straight path. My father didn’t see being a florist as a viable career, so I went on to study Psychology in college. Even so, my curiosity about flowers never really went away — it was always there, quietly pulling at me.

It wasn’t until I reached a crossroads in my life that I decided to fully explore my passions — yoga, social media, and flowers. Encouraged by a good friend, I gave all three a try, but flowers were the ones that truly captivated me.

I spent five years apprenticing under a mentor at a renowned Floral & Event Design company in Orange County, gaining hands-on experience with high-end weddings, social events, and corporate functions. Those years taught me the craft, the attention to detail, and how to bring a vision to life, while also helping me carve out my own niche in the floral industry.

Lovesome Blossoms was born when an Event Planner friend invited me to collaborate on a high-profile baby shower that ended up being featured in People Magazine. From that moment, I realized that creating floral designs was more than just arranging flowers — it was about crafting experiences, telling stories, and making moments unforgettable.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a perfectly smooth road — but I think that’s what’s made the journey meaningful. When I first started Lovesome Blossoms, I was still figuring out how to balance creativity with business. There were seasons where I questioned whether I was good enough or if I could sustain this path financially.

The pandemic was especially tough. Overnight, events stopped — weddings, celebrations, social gatherings — everything that flowers are meant for. It was heartbreaking to see so many couples postpone or cancel, and for a while, I wondered what Lovesome Blossoms would look like without the joy of events. But that time also forced me to get creative. I started finding new ways to bring flowers into people’s homes — through contactless deliveries, flower subscriptions, and small, intentional arrangements that offered comfort and beauty during an isolating time.

Being in the floral and event world means navigating unpredictable timelines, tight deadlines, and the physical and emotional demands of bringing large-scale designs to life. There were also times when I had to learn to say no, trust my instincts, and value my worth — lessons that didn’t come easily but shaped me into a more grounded designer and business owner.

Each challenge — from long nights building installations to moments of doubt — has taught me resilience, humility, and gratitude. Lovesome Blossoms has grown not just through pretty flowers, but through every behind-the-scenes moment of trial, sweat, and self-discovery.

We’ve been impressed with Lovesome Blossoms, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Lovesome Blossoms is a floral design studio based in DTLA, creating intentional, artful floral experiences for weddings, events, and installations. What began as a personal love for flowers has grown into a creative practice that celebrates emotion, movement, and connection through design.

We specialize in creating immersive floral environments that feel natural, elegant, and deeply personal — from delicate table arrangements to large-scale installations that transform spaces. Each design is guided by texture, color harmony, and a sense of storytelling — how flowers can make people feel.

What sets Lovesome Blossoms apart is our focus on purpose and presence. Every piece is created with intention, inspired by nature’s rhythms, and tailored to reflect our clients’ story, energy, and aesthetic. We’re in the business of crafting experiences that linger in memory.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of how Lovesome Blossoms has grown authentically — through word of mouth, relationships, and the trust of clients who value creativity and heart over trends. Our work has evolved beyond weddings to include corporate installations, editorial styling, and creative collaborations — but at the core, it’s always about using flowers as a medium for connection and beauty.

I want readers to know that Lovesome Blossoms is more than a floral business — it’s a reflection of artistry, growth, and intention. Whether it’s a wedding, an intimate gathering, or a large-scale installation, our goal is to create floral designs that speak to the heart and elevate the moment.

How do you define success?
Success is subjective, and to me, it’s about being able to create authentically from a place of endless imagination. It’s not just about the final floral installation or photo — it’s about the entire journey: from the very first client inquiry to design, production, installation, teardown, cleaning, restocking, and sweeping the last petal off the floor.

Success is when every part of that process — including the behind-the-scenes moments no one sees — is done with care, excellence, and heart. It’s being able to debrief afterward, share the client’s joy and compliments with the team, and feel that deep sense of fulfillment that comes from doing something with intention.

For me, success also means creating without losing myself — staying human through the chaos and beauty of it all. It’s knowing that I translated my client’s vision with honesty and artistry, and feeling, to my core, that it was done with love.
